Looks like Tasmanians are smelling the stinky AFL bullshit sales and bulling tactics for a new stadium.
From allegations of the AFL bullying the Tasmanian government. To overestimated financial benefits. AFL is selling bullshit in the disguise of diamonds.

100% They are basically saying if you don't build us a billion dollar new stadium in Hobart on the water with a roof at the tax payers expense. You are not getting a team. Despite there already being a perfectly good stadium already existing. The whiff and stink of AFL bull shit of the financial feasibility is overpowering.azif wrote: Fri May 09, 2025 9:27 amdisgraceful

Not a bad idea there Jackie.
University of Tasmania Stadium
recently received an upgrade too (it fits 20k) already.
its a nice ground actually.
even if 100million was spent on it as well.

he the NRL clubs are all getting club venues and club admin and training venues up graded at the hands of the tax payers. then you have the bears and new PNG team?GlobalRugbyLeague wrote: Fri May 09, 2025 9:33 am100% They are basically saying if you don't build us a billion dollar new stadium in Hobart on the water with a roof at the tax payers expense. it was the Tasmanian government that has been jumping up and down at the AFL wanting a team, not the NRL trying to off load a reject team to WA with a list of demands

There is a big difference there. The Federal Government actually want to put a team in PNG and are willing to spend the money for the NRL to do it.makingnrlfansgowacko wrote: Fri May 09, 2025 11:57 amhe the NRL clubs are all getting club venues and club admin and training venues up graded at the hands of the tax payers. then you have the bears and new PNG team?GlobalRugbyLeague wrote: Fri May 09, 2025 9:33 am100% They are basically saying if you don't build us a billion dollar new stadium in Hobart on the water with a roof at the tax payers expense. The AFL are actually forcing and bullying the Tasmanian government to pay for a new stadium in Tasmania when there there are already perfectly good venues available to use for games.
Are the NRL demanding a new stadium in Perth like the stinky AFL are doing in Tasmania???. Nope. You're comparing apples with oranges.

for a state that struggles financially and with a huge blow out
Investing in Bellerive oval and Launceston could be benefical and a third of the cost.
while splitting games between the 2 each season.
and guaranteeing sell outs each game.

its socialist ALBO doing anything for attention and trying to keep chinas influence out of the region so its PVL and ALB! any half wit with some knowledge will know the team will be plagued with issues operating and trying to attract and retain players for starters
the government in WA paying for licencing, operating, grass roots and a training and admin base and refusing to rebuild the existing venue as the NRL is demanding them do, i. mean they cant even regularly fill the venue for one off events and want it expanded and the NRL are putting nothing in, as the same time PVL is claiming how rich the NRL is
the Tasmanian government has been begging the AFL for a team for decades and the STATE DOES NOT HAVE A FIRST CLASS VENUE TO ATTRACT FORLD CLASS EVENTS TO BEGIN WITH. the team AFL will run and pay for most of it

Re: Looks like Tasmanians are smelling the stinky AFL bullshit sales and bulling tactics for a new stadium.
All based on Gruens report which ignores most of the benefits and then loads up on any concievable negatives. Including the money that people will spend interstate when they travel to see the team play outside of Tasmania, the lost revenue to old stadiums that wont be used any more, the entire cost of the AFL team to the Government - and all as expenses to be considered stadium expenses. Oh and "this just isnt suitable for hobart".GlobalRugbyLeague wrote: Fri May 09, 2025 9:09 amFrom allegations of the AFL bullying the Tasmanian government. To overestimated financial benefits. I hope they dont build the stadium and dont get a team. state deserves to stay in the dark ages. If someone proposed fire now, theyd knock it back for being to progressive for the state.

Team Taskforce report states the stadiums arent good enough and will need to be replaced. The new stadium is literally a tasmanian idea.GlobalRugbyLeague wrote: Fri May 09, 2025 9:33 am

Re: Looks like Tasmanians are smelling the stinky AFL bullshit sales and bulling tactics for a new stadium.
Theres a big difference indeed. The AFL has been telling Tasmania a team wasnt viable there since the 80s. Its on Tasmania to convince the league to put a team there, that puts the AFL in the box seat to make demands.GlobalRugbyLeague wrote: Sat May 10, 2025 12:51 pm

Bellerive is not perfectly good for use. Read the Venue selection documents. The AFL are actually forcing and bullying the Tasmanian government to pay for a new stadium in Tasmania when there there are already perfectly good venues available to use for games.
Ive seen plenty of reporting about a 300m rebuild and 200m upgrade for HBF Park, plus the COE and grassroots funding. Are the NRL demanding a new stadium in Perth like the stinky AFL are doing in Tasmania???. Nope. You're comparing apples with oranges.

ALP funding support for the venue apparently was tied to the AFL supporting the Yes campaign.makingnrlfansgowacko wrote: Sat May 10, 2025 3:44 pm

Stadiums Tasmania will run the venue. There is no provision for the AFL to run the new stadium in the contract.the team AFL will run and pay for most of it
