Of the 102 first-timers drafted this year, from the national and rookie draft pools, just eight came from the northern states - Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory. It was two before the rookie draft, with only Jonathan Freeman and Jake Barrett taken by the Brisbane Lions and the Giants, who had first dibs on them.

No player was drafted from the Northern Territory this year, at all. Tasmania made up some of the slack; it usually averages a couple of draftees and had five kids taken in the national draft and another two rookies

And how many kids from Victoria, Sth Australia, NT and Tas were given contracts by RL clubs? None that I am aware and just ONE player who has progressed to senior level from Victoria currently playing! There is still 100 senior and Rookie players on AFL lists - you like to remind us in 100 yrs AF hasn't really progressed much - well RL has a 100 yr history in Australia with next to no progression - in comparison AF is light years in front and doing well! At least we can say AFL NSW and QLD are producing players capable of playing at the highest level you can't say the same!

Does RL chest beat & proclaim how great it is going?.Are they proclaiming Look at us look at us Look at our "PARTICIPATION NUMBERS"
One code is always pushing the line of how great things are.
I just posted that article as a back up to the PERCEPTION statement made by Lawson..
Because no fumblefans ever seem to question any of the lies or Bullshit sprouted by AFL house.

There is reality & there is perception & you can bet Fumblefans run with the perception line.

Not sure how someone's in Canberra can give opinion on Sydney but ... What you think is not fact. Surely you could take a percentage of national figures for pay and assume certain percent for Sydney

I don't know about chest beating - I accepted your point of view that registered club members are really the only firm indication and said for me is whether junior comps are providing senior footballers for the AFL which they are - I only made to point about RL representation of Vic, SA, WA, Tas and NT because its a common line we get from RL posters that after 100 yrs AF has not progressed - the same applies to RL.

Further questioning decisions of AFL is always done, questioning lies well thats very subjective - RL does the same thing as I pointed out "A RL experience"? - touch football where there is HUGH discrepancies between playing numbers and e-mail addresses. Personally IMO RL posters really have the issue with AFL moving into their turf - any statement made will cause offence as it is perceived as an invasion rather than expansion. I wouldn't care if RL started clubs in WA, SA, TAS or a 2nd team in Vic - won't effect my love for AF.

Disputable, Dave, because you are ignoring the FACT that the average attendance for the Swans has NOT dropped below the top average of ANY NRL SYDNEY CLUB!!

It's not in trouble at all. The SCG renovations, plus the competition from GWS and there was bound to be a drop. It has nothing to do with any lack of interest! I wish TLPG had included Sydney clubs numbers in his expose of the real level of interest in AFL north of the Barassi line just to make you look shit! Not a stretch.

This needs to be said;

AFLcrap1..."Sorry north of the Murray very few care ,& are either interested in the RL world cup or soccer."

TLPG This equals "no one plays north of the Murray".

The subject spoken of was NOT Buddy Franklin. It was Beau's article about the AFL seeking to "stamp it's authority" on the Australian sporting landscape by starting the season earlier than they have in the past (except for 2000 because of the Olympics).

Nuff said. [-X [-X [-X [-X [-X

Oh blimey I avoided that because there are TOO MANY!!! Five divisions last I looked with some clubs having multiple teams. Besides, footy has been played competitively in Sydney since 1903 so it didn't seem to be a point to prove. Outside of the Riverina the development has been later with the earliest being Newcastle in 1948. That's just New South Wales I'm talking about.

NOW I'm done!

No THIS NEEDS TO BE SAID

My mistake ,I thought it was the Buddy article all you shitheads were wanking over..
Turns out it as Vlad talking up the AFL season .
Trying to keep it in the news in the OFF season..
Hence my reply...
Yet you lied & came up with the biggest ****** statement I have read.

SO .I say
Sorry north of the Murray very few care ,& are either interested in the RL world cup or soccer.".
How anyone can argue with that with the WC & A League on at the moment in the Northern states is mind boggling.
But only a complete & UTTER ****** would come to the conclusion that what I said equals.

"no one plays north of the Murray".

You are a LIAR ,& anyone on here can see it.
NO where did I state that North of the Murray No one plays AFL.
Yet that is what you claimed..

Besides being a compulsive liar ,a ******, a failed Detective ,you are also the dumbest ***** GOD ever punched an arsehole into.
TLPG 🤣liar extraordinaire
