Re: The AFL Melee - what why and how?
You got it wrong KE its not legal, however most players cop fines for it rather then suspensions. The funny thing is that the SOO players in game 2 did exactly the same thing when they learnt that they would be sent off for punching. The melee has found its way into RL. You will see more of it in game 3.King-Eliagh wrote:Howdy folks, its KE.![]()
The AFL melee. Many have understandably asked before, what on Earth is it?
Well folks allow me to break it down for you. First enjoy my short 1min video presentation.

Now as the commentators state its "a little bumpy and little pushy"It's a gathering of grown men, holding onto and tugging at one anothers singlets, often vigorously enough to tear them off, while engaging in a form of intimate effeminate circling dance which looks awful. It's basically a dance which is at complete odds with masculinity, in fact I'd argue its a form of feminisation. Worse still, it's completely legal in the AFL.
The commentators were basically blowing a few loads during this one minute clip and you'll hear one of them at the end say "you gotta love it". I mean what sort of men would say this? Why is the melee condoned and legal in the AFL? And what sort of example is it giving to the young boys watching?
Re: The AFL Melee - what why and how?
I cannot put my finger on it KE, but i would say that living in your own bubble IE Melbourne would make you like them over time............King-Eliagh wrote:"Save there"?as I said, theres some dummies in this forum who struggle. Do keep trying Xman
And yes eels I agree, the melee is strange and unique to the AFL. Why do you think we see this effeminate activity occurring in what many Melbournians see as a tough and manly sport?? Do you think its the AFL's fault? Or something strange about Melbournians? Or both? Or something else entirely?

You might even start this unique dancing in the street after a phew years of living in Melbourne.................maybe having a brawl or disagreement in a Melbourne bar is like what we saw in that video.................

Honestly i am certain that most AFL fans are reserved to the fact that the code of Aussie rules has changed over the years so much that they are now fighting football/soccer for the same kids for the junior clubs.
And we all know how that will end don't we guys......Football is not a world game for no reason you will loose.......

What the hell is your point......have you ever been to Melb? I grew up on Syd's Nth Shore and know Paramatta pretty well and I would rather live in Dandenong in Melbourne than Parramatta - that place is a dump! And believe it or not not every one down in Melb follows the footy! Typical RL supporter when you start losing the argument dump on Melbourne! Sydney people really do have an enormous chip on their shoulders! People in Melb don't usually care about these arguments.eelofwest wrote:I cannot put my finger on it KE, but i would say that living in your own bubble IE Melbourne would make you like them over time............King-Eliagh wrote:"Save there"?as I said, theres some dummies in this forum who struggle. He's doing something the AFL supporting turdburgers find very difficult to do, answering my question swines. So cut your whinging and join in on the thread for a change. This isn't all about you swines my juvenile thinking friend. The matter at hand is the phenomenon called the melee.

Hey KE, this is on the VRL websiteKing-Eliagh wrote:He's doing something the AFL supporting turdburgers find very difficult to do, answering my question swines. The VRL has issued Tough Love in its competitions for 2013.
Since the start of the 2013 season there have been 11 players and 1 coach who have received Tough Love by the VRL resulting in a total of 47 weeks of suspensions for Tough Love offences.
The VRL intends to provide an environment of play that is free of violence and abuse on the field. Through Tough Love, the VRL takes a stance of ZERO TOLERANCE for the following:
Punching or Striking
Fighting or Melees
Abuse of Match Officials
Under the Tough Love policy, there are minimum suspensions for the above offences regardless of an individual’s record or plea of guilt and applies to all age groups from U6s to First Grade.
The VRL’s Tough Love policy can be found at the following link:
I guess it's not just the AFL that doesn't like melee's.......seems strange that they would go out of their way to say it shouldn't happen and there's tough love for those that offend if it isn't happening in RL. Feel a bit of a hypocrite do you KE.....if not you should!

Go back to cutting the oranges KE. I know more about you than you probably do ... And you know it. You don't play footy although you may play a part in a club .. Maybe manager at best ... You think you're part of the team which is kind of sweet and every club needs the likes of you. Be proud of your role mate , club couldn't operate without your types doing their work.

Keep ur dream alive though.
Oh and swines what is the vrl? is that the Victorian rugby league? If so that's bloody fantastic, the feminisation of men through allowing melees should not be aloud in any league! Thanks swines

2012
TOUGH LOVE in LEAGUE
CURBING VIOLENCE IN OUR GAME
Following on from the successful trials of the Tough Love in League (TLIL) in 2011 all Leagues across NSW will fully implement the policy in 2012.
The policy will be enforced in all age groups from under 13’s through to under 18’s. Other minor changes have been made to the policies which are outlined below.
The program has the endorsement of the NSW Rugby League and Country Rugby League of NSW.
No longer will the minority ruin the Rugby League experience for the vast majority. The Tough Love in League program is designed with four key objectives in mind:
1. To reduce the amount of violence in the grassroots game.
2. To take the pressure off young and inexperienced referees and match officials.
3. To make the Junior League experience safe, fair and fun for all.
4. To encourage increased participation in the game.
Desired program outcomes include:
1. Reduce on field violence.
2. Elimination of unsavoury behavior towards referees.
3. Stop ‘all-in’ melees
4. Remove repeat offenders from the games (both teams and individuals)
5. Reduce the number of matches being abandoned because of poor behaviour.
6. Stop spectators from entering the field.
7. Educate players at a young age that violence in our game will not be tolerated.
Seems the only people out of step is you and GiantsRD!
Why would NSWRL Juniors include point 3 3. Stop ‘all-in’ melees if this is not happening in RL, nice try at deflection but again - why are you bringing this up when it is obviously a problem for RL?
