Very strange that you flicked the TV on and it was on 7mate. I think this must be an AFL conspiracy to destroy your reputation. Quick put your tin hat back on they are reading your mind again.
no one watches that crap up here
& you know it
now back from the attempted deflection
why are VFL players so skilless ?

I would have thought that the skill set required to play AR would be one of the most all round sets in world sport and therefore one of the hardest to master, in all of its aspects. Compared to league at the highest level, where you simply have to be able to pick up a ball which has been rolled underneath someone's foot, charge at three guys who tackle you and then roll the ball under your foot. In AFL there is a much greater chance that things can go wrong. In league, some guys don't even have the coaches permission to throw the ball 2 feet to the left or right and lets face it they don't need that skill because they have 5 tackles before any real skills need to come into play.
I quite enjoy league as a spectacle, lots of grunt, passion, hardness and patches of speed, however as far as skills required only one or two league players per team need a similar skill set to AR. This is why players from AR backgrounds such as Dally M and D Lockyer were able to play the game so well. AR has it all over league for all round skills and players are rewarded for taking risks and going for the hardest option, which i admit can look bad at times. In League, however the safest option is usually the preferred choice and only certain players are allowed to take these risks unless things are getting desperate.
Well now, you cant say that first line is not the most biased of opinions. Ruckmen? Their role could be described in similar fashion as to what you've described RL forwards. What about ruckrovers/rovers/ the other "followers"?
"Followers is a term given to a group of playing positions in the game of Australian rules football - a ruckman, ruck rover, and rover.
These three players are known as followers because they have traditionally been used as players that follow the ball all around the ground, as opposed to playing in a set position. In recent years, there has been a decreased emphasis on set positions in Australian football. Followers still cover more ground than any other player on the field"
A good one's main requirement is to be able to go hard at the ball.
Seriously pies i expect more of you being a sports fan and all...
