Re: NRL has 'missed the boat' on Central Coast
How many fans would turn up to a non-sydney AFL game in sydney beaussie? Say Fremantle vs GC? Well, you'd have to suggest it'd be much worse than a GWS crowd!
So about 4k? In a city of 4mil
Makes RL getting 10k+ in a coastal region of much less than 1 million pretty fukkin good.

North Melbourne used to play games in Sydney against other clubs. From memory they got 16,000 odd for a game against West Coast at the SCG. Pretty impressive wouldn't you agree when compared to two Sydney NRL clubs playing a game in Gosford and getting 7,000 odd. They just love their NRL in NSW, Central Coast in particular according to you. Bet you feel stupid now eh?King-Eliagh wrote:How many fans would turn up to a non-sydney AFL game in sydney beaussie? Why Raiderdave did you come out of the fog of idiocy to express a worth while opinion - there may be the slightest hope that you have some rational thought! However you comments about GWS well the AFL thinks long term not whats going to happen next year!Raiderdave wrote:the NRL does not want a team relocated or started from scratch on the CC
if they did it would have happend by now
the fact they have the best soccer team in the land & can't attract 10K to games .. shows long term it would not be viable
the place is too close to Sydney & does not add any value to the competition .. similarly the midgets & thuns in the VFL ... oh hang on ..![]()
the VFL included them didn't they![]()

so there is no boat , to be missed
Perth & Brisbane II
thats where we are going in 2018
2 strong sides viable & competitive from day one
wow , what a change from a certain other cluster fuck we're all seeing ATM![]()

Central Coast's population is under 300,000.King-Eliagh wrote:How many fans would turn up to a non-sydney AFL game in sydney beaussie? Say Fremantle vs GC? Well, you'd have to suggest it'd be much worse than a GWS crowd! So about 4k? In a city of 4mil

Central Coast is a unique case, its too hard to get any accurate assumptions by looking at the crowd figures for NRL games. The reason is the central coast for years have been trying to get an NRL franchise of their own (ever since the proposed re-location of North sydney Bears and again after the breakup of the Northern Eagles). last year the NRL commission decided to postpone any expansion plans. The RL community on the Central coast for many years had no issues attending NRL games staged up there (the crowds were always close to capacity) but since the descision for no expansion plans, there has been a growing mood of restraint towards NRL games up there.Beaussie wrote:North Melbourne used to play games in Sydney against other clubs. Central Coast view the NRL games staged up there by sydney teams alittle differently now. they (CC fans) could argue that attending these games only helps the financially struggling sydney clubs, those who use the Central coast as a means to better their finances. people attending these games are potentially aiding in preventing the Central Coast Bears from entering the comp. The central coast also do not want to be used by the NRL anymore. they have said many times they want a team of their own.
