Curiously crowd not given in the Herald Sun, unlike for every other game.

They don't want their audience to know the bad news.

The title of this thread eludes to something that just doesn't exist. Both the AFL and nrl ..... And numerous other sports generally get on harmoniously in the GC. Surfing is also a major sport here with loads of interest . So there is no battle although I would say there are watchful eyes from both sides as to how the other is going re KPIs

I thought near on 13000 was good and as mentioned earlier I thought maybe 9000 given the weather ... A good indicator of grass roots support as fair weather supporters would not have gone last night ...

Ive never seen code war stuff in melbourne papers, probably because the Storm is so small. On the other hand its around all the time in NSW papers, I assume because the big bad AFL is such a threat. Or maybe just maybe the whole code war thing is crap used in NSW to sell papers.

Yes I agree pies, there is no specific 'code war' going on. There's just poor form by the AFL in their recruitment and promotion strategy and in the propaganda like rhetoric of its leader Andrew Demetriou i.e. "AFL will be the sport of choice for all young Australian men" - the AFL aint a sport and the delusions of grandeur in such statements is simply offensive. Poor form indeed.
