34mm of rain on the Coast today kept thousands away.

inb4butbutbut

you're delusional if you don't think that amount of rain would have kept plenty away.

9k less than the broncos v titans wasnt it. Not bad given qld is supposed to be a RL state and the lions and suns were bottom 4 last year
King-Eliagh: ...I believe [RL] is popular in all the other states and territories, bar tasmania.

Was there and what a good game. Good to get near on 13000 ... As mentioned prior , those who went would gave had to love their AFL so 13000 tonight is pretty good for as mentioned, a largely nrl heartland... Although AFL definitely had its market. For not the weather I would imagine probably a few thousand more ... I nearly didn't go but at last minute went. Tell you what though, they need parking close by ... Cost 10 bucks to park close by!!!! So a good crowd I would say for a sport trying to get more people interested ... As I said , whatever crowd turned up would be a good indicator of solid base support ... So 13000 or near enough is great really. There were a few lions supporters there too ... I would say maybe 3-4 thousand .

The $ANFL charge you $15 to park on land that they own. I saw someone post on the Port board bigfooty forum that it only costs you $5 to park at Canberra Raiders games. Everything's just cheaper at the Raiders, yet no one goes!

Dave's source, a bartender at the game. As sad a source as that would be, I still dont believe that he knows anyone in real life. I call BS on that one.

The rain didn't seem to effect the broncos game. They still managed to drawe 42k in the wet
