The facts are:

- Leichhardt council asked for EOI (these are usually pretty informal, pretty much just to see who is in the mix)
- AFL NSW/ACT responded by providing details from a basic postcode search.
- For the formal submission the council requested more detailed information, specifically regarding registered players.
- AFL NSW/ACT provided said details, but also pointed out that the lack of a ground in the area meant that many people were forced to go outside of the area to play.

Nevertheless AFL NSW/ACT received basically what they applied for despite the Sydney media claiming they lost their bid.

I think JALF just had a premature ejaculation. Look at the Swan's numbers in the 80's they were quite similar to GWS. Give them time and they will come.
