15m accumulative audience? That was last year, excluded game length, season length, scheduling advantages, etc... It's over already champ. The AFL are looking at 4.5million viewers this first round, without regionals. It's over!no amount of dodgy regionals will make up that gap.

These figures exclude a few things. Not the least is that advertising cost a lot more in the ARL part of the country.
Length isnt as big a factor as you like to make out. Having a longer - more drawn out game , restricts the timeslots a TV station has for advertising, ie we can show 3 games withot overlapping while the AFL can only show 2. But having 4 of sports biggest mega rating programs compared to the AFL 1 is a major attraction to TV network as advertising in these timeslots attracts huge money.
It will be interesting to see how far the figures drop after the first few hand picked rounds
