Why does AFL try to claim to be like the Superbowl when the NRL final is clearly way more similar to the U.S event.?

Which is the best football code? Here you can have it out with other football fans.

big headlines ?
paid for by AFL house     :(/ :(/
no one cared

& they know it as .... uncoball ...the giggles & misses .. noodlearmball ..... fumbles & bumbles
not footy !
& its avoided by 95% of Qlders

The Storm in Melb outrated the paddle pop wions in Brisbane & the gutless swines in Sydney
thats all we need to know here Petey

don't know about that - particularly in offices - maybe some dinosaur tradies - but even then - most people don't have this parochialism - they prefer one or the other but there isn't the hatred that we see here by Asif - I am sure it is there as a hangnail for some older ones - likely stemming from the RL V RU stuff that has historically existed - but the younger ones these days seem much more eclectic in the liking of sports.

I know for a fact that the King's Beach Tavern last year was full of people going for Brisbane - with about 10 Collingwood supporters - it was a good day my friends :).
     :(/ :(/ :(/
who said the fumbling game is hated

no
its far worse then that , its ridiculed ... laughed at & mocked
Young boys at high schools who play it in NSW & QLD & the ACT are considered weird .... same as soccer ...its a sport for girls.
They aren't able to play RL so they choose a soft easy option .
No

its waaaayyyy worse then hate     :(/ :(/ :(/

I am sure for you that is indeed true. As I said - there are those still out there that feel this way - but it is old school and outdated. Most people are quite open to other sports I find - but yes - there is thatvery small cohort - likely confined to somewhat defunct internet chat boards, that still exist.

no , its pretty much everyone in this day & age ?

the fumbling game in NSW , QLD & the ACT is a joke confirmed by TV ratings akin to cartoons , & the only people who don't think this are ex pat clowns who moved there & live in a bubble

AFL (Australian Rules Football) was invented in Australia & is our national football code. Rugby League is popular in Australia but is still very much foreign to most normal Australians.

NFL (Gridiron) was invented in USA & is their national football code. Rugby League is played their also but not very popular at all. In fact hardly anyone would know about its exitance in the USA.

EPL (English Football) was invented in England & is their national football code. Rugby League is also played their but is not very popular.

Azif this is not very hard to work out. Just be happy that Rugby League is still number 2 in Australia (the best country in the world) whereas in USA & England it is barley thought about.
You are wrong about the UK. England has had the number one Rugby League team in the world many times. It is also popular enough to have it's own professional league with 3 devisions. It is also popular enough to have tv coverage.

Azif no one in half of your country knows the difference between Rugby & Rugby League. That shows how popular it is here in Australia. At least everyone knows what footy is here whether they like it or not :)
AFL is not even known as footy in NSW & Qld. It is just called AFL. Don't forget you have zero presence in New Zealand.
A country with a bigger population than WA & SA combined which AFL has failed massively every time it has tried to grow the sport there.

While NRL & Rugby League is well known there.

The Lions winning the flag was big headlines in Brisbane. At least they know its footy, same as Sydney with the Swans.

Whereas if the Storm won the Premiership in Rugby League then most Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, NT & Tasmanians would have no idea the difference if its Rugby or Rugby League. They would say well done Wallabies :)
The NRL don't even have teams in those states. So of course they would not know. People in Melbourne know who the Storm are. They have had Billy Slater and Cameron Smith on the AFL football shows there and I have heard the Storm in sports news there. Not only that, the State Of Origin got a bigger crowd at the MCG than every single AFL match ever played in NSW & QLD.

Rugby League is still a bigger sport than AFL globally too. It's more popular than AFL in every single country outside Australia and AFL is still behind in NSW & QLD.

AFL is number one in half a country and non existent in every other country in the world or countries that Rugby League has a presence.

No NZ
No France
No UK
No FiJi
No Tonga
No Samoa
No PNG

It's just ridiculous how far AFL is behind Rugby League globally. Light & day.

The AFL Grand Final and the Superbowl are very very alike.
Not in game playing rules but the amount of National pride and passion both events generate.
Both are much loved sporting events representing a sport unique to its country and developed from within.
NFL is the favourite much loved sport in the USA.
AFL is the favourite much loved sport in Australia.
No it's nothing like the Super Bowl. It's a completely different shaped stadium for a start.

If you had Americans watching the NRL Grand Final & the AFL grand final. They would say the NRL Grand Final is more like the Superbowl every time.

It would not even be a competition to which sport they would find way more relatable and similar to The Superbowl.

Gameplay and stadium shape are obviously different but the huge impact on their respective countries are the same, consider the following.

American football is the much loved dominant code from North to South to East to West.
Superbowl is watched all over USA.

Australian football is the much loved dominant code from North to South to East to West.
The AFL grand final ( Australias Superbowl ) is watched all over Australia.
Bring back the Bears.
