You make a great point lol.

If it does fall over, which is looking more and more likely, you could definately say the massive lack of crowds at games was a factor.
But to root cause it you have to look at governance.
The nuffies at National Flogby League hq are hell bent to please the broadcasters and all their advertiser's.
At a very heavy price. Imo
Attendees of games seem to be way way down the list of considerations.
So far down they don't register as a priority at all any more.

what they don't get... it's not just for NRL... yes NRL will benefit

though its for all sports and entertainment

there will be more events scheduled at Olympic Pk
than the MCG.. in 2018 year

and it still will have more events than the MCG

Youre assuming the crowds are poor due to the conditions of the stadia. The MCG had fantastic crowds well before it was in state of the art condition
