The question is ... is touch rl. The nrl try to claim it in their participation numbers, and a good effort by then, but no one (fir aflcrap that means "a lot") really buys this. Just buying into a partnership with touch doesn't make touch rl. Just as union claiming it doesn't make it union. That two sports try to use it suggests it belongs to neither and is a "sport" in its own right. Just because it was born from rl to train etc doesn't make it rl just as rl was born from union doesn't make rl union. Raquet ball is not squash, royal tennis is not tennis, softball is not baseball. However to counter argue ... 20/20 and limited overs is still cricket. I just think that it stinks of hypocracy that touch suddenly became rl (in Australia) once an agreement was entered was into. Nice try rl but no one is buying it let alone governments nor the struggling junior competitions whose numbers are dwindling ...

exactly! we have been through this several times! posting participation numbers from several different sources! ABS, roy morgan, erass etc, all showed the NRLOL participation numbers to be crap! fudged over inflated numbers

note i never mention the AFL participation numbers either just numbers from 3rd party collection of stats
