just because you dont like the figures he tweets doesnt mean he's a joke. In fact you NRL fans are the joke given you cant even call something by its name.....fumbleball, *******, Mr Twit, Essington, VFL, etc etc. So immaturepussycat wrote: Sun Jun 18, 2017 8:36 pmYour mob liked to make out/promote 5 city ratings as being representative of Australia . Many AFL viewers still think that's that is case. But that is pure fantasy. NRL viewers are entitled to mention regions considering 20-25 % of our teams are regional.The_Wookie wrote: Sun Jun 18, 2017 7:24 pmThe only reason theres a query in the first place is because before this season we rarely had AFL regionals published unless the AFL released them. A fact never bought up the NRLs "what about our regionals" brigade is that no ones regionals were taken into account.pussycat wrote: Sun Jun 18, 2017 11:51 am
I have no problem Mr Twit or his site. I do have a query about some of the unsubstantiated AFL regionals that get put down to MR twit and his updates.
There is no problem with Mr twit. Rather the problem comes from people using his name to substantiate mysterious/bogus updates. This has made him a bit of a running joke.

Nobody i'm aware of has tried to deny the AFL Regionals and frankly I not sure what your on about.
5 city ratings have in the past been preferred by the advertises with their advertisement capturing more viewers but nowadays The regional channels show very similar advertising and programing to there city affiliates. For that reason, I think 5 city rating are becoming less popular and national ratings are becoming more prominent. though there a plenty of AFL fans who would like to ignore national ratings as it puts an end to there dominance.

5 City Metro is the "industry standard" and has been stated and used so since OzTam began.
Every network, website, forum, etc. will tell you.
That is what advertisers are interested in, becausae key demographic data (25-54s for example) is available.
Regional is only really used, to get a NATIONAL audience picture (e.g.) PR, bragging rights, etc.
The AFL on Friday nights (when there's big teams and/or close games) regularly rated 200-300k regional.

From twitter:
AFL - Western Bulldogs vs. Melbourne on @FoxFooty scored near 300k.
2017 high (non-Anzac Day) 143k in Melb.
Powerful slot for @Foxtel in recent weeks.
^
That was the highest-rating AFL/NRL game on Foxtel this round, despite not even being a close game.
And huge Melbourne audience.
Showing that EVERYONE wanted to find pay TV yesterday, due to being the only game available on Sundays in recent weeks.
Foxtel will be licking their lips at the exclusivity!
It's because Seven's Sunday game is missing, due to Thursday night games.

The reason why that won't work, is because RegionalTAM doesn't measure key demographic data (which is what EVERY network and advertiser looks at daily) (e.g.) How many 25-54s watched a program, etc.leeroy*NRL* wrote: Mon Jun 19, 2017 11:21 amthere has been many talks in combining metro and regional as one..

But of course AFL-haters will say that
Regional NSW & QLD is much bigger than other regional areas of Australia.
However it also doesn't mean everyone in such areas liles NRL or even sport in general.
Otherwise (for example) we'd have 24 million people watching the AFL Grand Final every year, etc.
We're a funny country when you look at (e.g.) the US.

Re: 2017 - Australian Football TV Ratings - AFL, AFL Womens etc (Rolling updates in OP)
OzTAM and Regional TAM’s in-home television audience measurement (TAM) panels estimate the time Australians across age groups spend viewing broadcast television (free-to-air and subscription channels) on in-home TV sets each month. From Q2 2017 these panels will comprise approximately 8,000 homes and 20,000 people that collectively represent the characteristics of the overall population. Estimates are projected to the population as a whole in OzTAM and Regional TAM markets: this provides per person average time spent viewing figures, including people who watch a lot of TV and those who watch relatively little or none.SportFan wrote: Mon Jun 19, 2017 12:51 pmThe reason why that won't work, is because RegionalTAM doesn't measure key demographic data (which is what EVERY network and advertiser looks at daily) (e.g.) How many 25-54s watched a program, etc.leeroy*NRL* wrote: Mon Jun 19, 2017 11:21 amthere has been many talks in combining metro and regional as one..

By the way, there was no free-to-air Sunday AFL game (and there hasn't been for a few weeks, due to Thursday Night).
No not comparable.
But if we are going to...
WB vs. MELB yesterday on Fox Footy, was the #1 program on Foxtel last week, including outrating all their NRL games! Almost 300k (despite being one-sided).
2017 high for Foxtel in Melbourne too (excluding Anzac Day), 143k

With 3 prime-time AFL games again (plus other markets & multi-channels), I'd say Seven will snatch the week again.

Pal no one cares about TV channels. You've been watching too much of Mr TV on twitter. He should change his name to Mr fumbleball/Ch7 propaganda man. His credibility is lower than a snakes belly. Grow up pal.SportFan wrote: Wed Jun 21, 2017 4:02 pmWith 3 prime-time AFL games again (plus other markets & multi-channels), I'd say Seven will snatch the week again.
