As for an NRL moderator, Wookie and I are both all for it and we've long wanted an NRL moderator after MarkZZZ ceased undertaking that role. Who is the best person for the role though? You AFLcrap1? Hmm, not so sure. Even your username suggests a bias. I was thinking ParraEels or pussycat. Just my thoughts though. Open to suggestions from everyone, particularly Wookie.

Been asking for suggestions for an NRL mod in the top sticky on the board. No responses yet.

Sadly that's long been the case even before the sticky thread. Just on my suggestions, I think ParraEels is good value and has a very good knowledge of RL domestically and internationally from what I've been able to gather over the years of seeing him post here, at BF and LU. pussycat seems pretty reasonable most of the time too. Just my 2 cents worth.

I'm not going searching for all the articles from last season where the games were sold out. I'm just going by my experience last season attending games and of trying to get friends tickets and none were available on more than a couple of occasions.

If AFL is so National and SO popular why do they have only 2 teams outside the capital cities? You attack NRL for not being 'National'

Well I would argue having teams in Newcastle, Gold Coast, Townsville, Canberra, and half a team in Wollongong are pretty significant.

Considering Gold Coast, Newcastle and Townsville, Canberra and Wollongong are included in the top 15 cities in Australia

So you're claiming Freemantle as outside capital cities are ya Fumbling Fred. Freemantle is listed as a suburb of Perth. It is 19k from the CBD. In contrast Penrith is 55k from Sydney's CBD, Cronulla 31k, Parramatta 25k, Wollongong 95k and even Kogarah is 18.8k. Are they outside the capital city Fumbling Fred??

Thank's for that clarification terry on Fremantle. I always thought it was a fare way away from perth. Learn something every day.

As for research for a forum cite... probably not. Happy to be corrected when I am wrong. I kinda have better things to do. heading off to the beach soon. Maybe go for a surf. Was there yesterday after a 5 k run but waves were crap with a north wester blowing. Temp of water was 25 degrees and fantatastuc. Lunch on the beach ... chook and some roles maybe. Work again tomorrow with reports coming out my ears. Bit behind as went to see Springsteen Tuesday and took two days off. You know how it is, take a day off pay for it when you get back. Got to go to a conference on Wednesday too so there goes another day. At least I'm not presenting lol. Probably have to do some report writing tonight me thinks to get some out here of the way.
