RL might only have 3 games a week, but those 3 games are broadcast to all cities Now then imagine what it would do to the averages if Melbourne had its games shown live - separately and only - into Melbourne, or Newcastle and Canberra had their games shown separately into their areas, how would that impact regionals?

Further if we take a leaf out of leagues book we should be able to count matches broadcast at the same time on the Seven network as the same broadcast - thats how Friday nights were measured by leaguies for years, and how we should have been viewing the saturday night and sunday afternoon AFL fixtures.

This is where the 1 game shown in isolation comes into it. Its also the onbly game guaranteed to be live nationally. Every other game is delayed somewhere or overlaps with another game. Its why you see Fox games shown on Fox 3 instead of just rolling through foxfooty.
I agree that we have had more matches that are capable of being on that list of highest rating FTA matches. But last year I didn't hear you interjecting for the NRL when only a handful of there matches fit the criteria to be on that list. But the AFL/Ch7 choose to do this with there matches if a Perth audience is watching Perth team they will get double the ratings, Same with Adelaide. How can you have a go at Ch9 for doing similar? The AFL did it before we everb did and do it for nearly every match. furthermore the NRL failed to gain any advantage from this because unlike the AFL our other Friday night game was on 2 hour delay.

Take a leaf out of leagues book????? league has never done this so how is it taking a leaf out of leagues book?

How long does an AFL game go for 150m? 4 20m quarters that, with extra time go for about 30 and about another 30m for breaks. Meaning they could easily fit 3 stand alone games into a day , 4 if they stated a bit earlier. The AFL obviously feel is more of a benefit the way it is currently done .
And don't forget 70% of NRL fans can watch is just 3 matches.

You're just another rabble ball but but but but apologist wookie!!!! I would have thought that if you showed a tad more objectivity you might attract a more intelligent type of poster to this site. Apart from myself and a few other moderate posters all you have got here is lying, spinnning, rabble ball zealots!!

The problem is you're in the same boat as them!!!

Objectivity? You think youre objective do you? The man/woman who claims Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne have large AFL crowds because theres nothing else to do in those cities. Yet when you're asked to give examples of what you can do in Sydney that I cant in melbourne you go missing. You're the guy who thinks the desert is 2kms from the CBD of Perth and Adelaide. You think the Swans crowd is full of Melbourne expats. You're objectivity is laughable.

You carry on about but but excuses and cherry picking data, yet you completely ignore the total ratings, and ignore the highest ratings, just to point at averages.

You're a complete hypocrite

The AFL balance their fixture to attract a both crowds and ratings, where as the NRL seem to target ratings only

The ol' cherry picker Caitlan..........what a dill. Maybe if you looked at the the whole list you would see that RL got 13 out of the top 22. In anyone's language that's a victory to RL.

What lies and spin have ya got for that ya buffoon?????
:[]

The AFL have 1 isolated game each round on Friday night, so after 8 rounds they could only realistically have 8 games in the top list. All the rest of the games are shown into a few cities each. Due to the NRLs Thursday games, and 2 extra rounds, the NRL have had about 18 isolated games in prime time.

Yet 4 of the AFLs 8 games make up the top 6 for both codes. Domination
Poor ol' Caitlan X.......Man caught out lying again. What a surprise!!!!!!! The table compares the first 7 rounds of both comps ya dill. It dosen't count RL's extra rounds.
Wookie just explained that you're wrong, so you're the one lying and I deserve an apology [-X

according to Wookie our total per round is higher. According to Wookie the AFL has the highest home and away games compared to the NRL. Your average game may be higher, but comparing isolated games only, which actually makes sense, shows we are higher for FTA and Fox

Our crowds are up almost 10% our ratings 25% I think that's a pretty good juggling act.

We, played 10 rounds and test match. 31 FTA matches to the AFL's 32. Were were well ahead on PTV also.

80 NRL games to our 72. 80 NRL games in isolation to our 10. Yet we have 5 of the top 7 ratings. Comparing fox on FN, and we are almost 40% ahead

According to Wookies crowd tables the AFL gets half its crowds from the 2 or 3 games at the MCG each week. So I wouldn't talk to loudly!

for starters theyre single games, not two games with one crowd that is attributed to 4 teams :(/

Secondly, the Eagles, Dockers, Crows, Power and Swans are all averaging crowds well over double the NRLs average, and their home crowds are nowhere near the MCG
