I agree that we have had more matches that are capable of being on that list of highest rating FTA matches. But last year I didn't hear you interjecting for the NRL when only a handful of there matches fit the criteria to be on that list. But the AFL/Ch7 choose to do this with there matches if a Perth audience is watching Perth team they will get double the ratings, Same with Adelaide. How can you have a go at Ch9 for doing similar? The AFL did it before we everb did and do it for nearly every match. furthermore the NRL failed to gain any advantage from this because unlike the AFL our other Friday night game was on 2 hour delay.The_Wookie wrote:The match table and the stv table include leagues extra rounds amd rep fixtures.
RL might only have 3 games a week, but those 3 games are broadcast to all cities Now then imagine what it would do to the averages if Melbourne had its games shown live - separately and only - into Melbourne, or Newcastle and Canberra had their games shown separately into their areas, how would that impact regionals?
Further if we take a leaf out of leagues book we should be able to count matches broadcast at the same time on the Seven network as the same broadcast - thats how Friday nights were measured by leaguies for years, and how we should have been viewing the saturday night and sunday afternoon AFL fixtures.
This is where the 1 game shown in isolation comes into it. Its also the onbly game guaranteed to be live nationally. Every other game is delayed somewhere or overlaps with another game. Its why you see Fox games shown on Fox 3 instead of just rolling through foxfooty.
Take a leaf out of leagues book????? league has never done this so how is it taking a leaf out of leagues book?
How long does an AFL game go for 150m? 4 20m quarters that, with extra time go for about 30 and about another 30m for breaks. Meaning they could easily fit 3 stand alone games into a day , 4 if they stated a bit earlier. The AFL obviously feel is more of a benefit the way it is currently done .
And don't forget 70% of NRL fans can watch is just 3 matches.
