He told the psychiatrist there was a culture in his rugby league club where women were "objectified and used and where pornography was openly accessed and enjoyed". The man told the psychiatrist the pornography at the rugby league club did not involve children and he became involved in viewing child pornography only after his league career failed. The court heard the man had been abused by a family member as a child.

In a statement released this afternoon, Victoria Police said: "This conversation needs to take place before we consider any further action".
