Soccer players - the most unsportman of them all

So the nrl people are hating soccer too. Are they do insular that they have to attack every other sport ? Many AFL supporters on here are either indifferent to rl or even follow a club. Yet all we get is put downs ... Serious put downs not banter, of other sports . Maybe there is a fear of these other sports .., AFL. Maybe AFL is a threat? Although I see soccer as a potential threat to AFL ... Just like AFL maybe to nrl in Sydney , but you don't get the same vitriol from most AFL supporters to soccer ? Anyway just an observation. I mean look at AFL crap and dave .... They truly hate AFL with a passion. .., it appears to consume them. Dave want even eat weetbix cause they sponsor AFL and crapper seems to spend his day researching and googling articles on AFL... He appears to know more about the AFL then most ???

I think the vast majority of people will just give any sport a go and although they have their favourite they don't view other codes as threats as they follow more than one code - I.e. Collingwood cheer squad is Joffa Corfe - little do people know is he is also in the Storm cheer Squad (wears gold jacket at Coll games and a purple jacket at Storm games) Molly Meldrum No.1 ticket holder of St.Kilda and Storm and I hear a member of Melb Victory etc etc- it's only the insular Sydney centric RL fan that views the world in a bubble (and perhaps NQ ladyboy's and Snit Green fans). They see everything as a threat - Wherese union fans, soccer fans and AFL fans generally can just see the positives of other games without it affecting the love for their game. Have said this many times don't hate RL only their fans!

The GAA in SA changed from winter to summer and had an immediate jump in response.
I could handle watching them in summer.

i dont know why we have to see eachother as threats lol, why cant you be a fan of multiple sports? im only a fan of soccer but i dont mind AFL or RL although if i had to choose between the 2 of those id go with AFL out of a personal preference - and ive played all 3!

i get the feeling that AFL fans are less insecure about the progress of other sports and will even openly go out of their way to support them. i have friends in real life that are regular attendees of swans games that only have good things to say about soccer while a lot of rugby league fans regard it as a pussy sport lol

the rugby union comment was actually interesting too - ive met plenty of union fans who dont have a bad thing to so about soccer as well and pretty much dont care whether or not their sport is competing well or not vs the "competition"

i met a ridiculous amount of AFL fans in germany in 2006 that were there to support australia at the world cup. a decent amount of them were victory and adelaide united supporters which i thought was cool. i met some RL fans, most of them knew of the a-league but thought it was shit and either just supported their RL team and bandwagoned with the socceroos or supported their RL team + some EPL team

i feel like AFL fans are more accepting and open to the a-league as it is local and while it might not be as good as many overseas leagues...its australian and its ours....a lot of RL fans dont have the time for it and would rather stay up till 2am to watch an english team play which is fair enough, it's their choice

obviously i cant generalize all nrl fans like that, im sure theres plenty that are cool guys and have time for any sport, this is just what ive seen from my time of meeting new people via soccer

matty johns and phil rothfield are only **** a few rugby league big names who advocate for the a-league, many just follow the socceroos or some overseas team or play it down/hate it for some reason

They had to make a sub forum to handle the insecurities.
Was something like 11 pages of threads ,most going crazy & frothing at the mouth at the mention of Soccer.
The posts were a laugh a minute.
One **** wanted Soccer banned in all Victorian schools.
& Soccer & RL have co existed /shared facilities for over 100 yrs.
There is only One insular sport that is insecure.
