NFL at the "G"

With the NFL in town and playing at the MCG - I noted a lot through coverage of media in US - including through the game - that AFL/Aussie Rules was covered a lot. Obviously this will create some interest in the game - but how much - probably negligible - but it is a big market. Watched a bit of the game today too - not a fan to be honest - but as a spectacle was great. Loved them signaling a goal by doing the Aussie Rules goal Umpire signal.

Good tourism boost for Melbourne as well - many people came from across the country to see this game. I'm surprised they are not rotating it across other states - but I hear that having nit at the MCG was a main requirement from the NFL bosses given it's iconic status and game day experience/atmosphere - that you only get at the G. Would have been better at a rectangular field - some of the views - especially low on fence - were terrible.

overall pretty good vibes on the whole occasion from the NFL, MEDIA and Networks.
VICTORIA picked a Winner in getting the NFL in town.
NSW and QLD missed a trick not even trying to compete

the only negative seems to be the angles and views of the stadium.

i heard one quote, "they could fit 3 NFL fields on this stadium

its a bizzare decision as they should of played it at the large former olympic stadium in Sydney due to the rectangular field and far better viewing
