Wayne Bennett on PNG says it’s just unfair

Post by Beaussie »

Huge incentives being offered with no tax to pay for players signing on with PNG. Is Wayne right to call this out?

PNG is going to be one of the biggest sporting stories in the history of Australia and the Pacific. In fact I would go so far to say this will make headlines around the world. A 3rd world country getting recognition and respect through Rugby League. Its gonna happen.

Wayne is right that they're getting unfair advantages. But I think it is worth it for the betterment of the country.

Yep it is unfair, it is a huge leg up, though them being Internationally they will find it very hard to be successful week in week out.
I can see what the NRL are trying to do with PNG.
they are giving the team 10 years to BUILD GRASSROOTS to NRL Level
where from there no tax incentive and PNG Grassroots will takeover.

was hoping they would rely more on PNG Players from the Get go.

It is werid to say, but PNG will be the Biggest Sporting Franchise in the NRL
and be the biggest in any code in time.
