Why is the NRL putting it head in the sand over Langlands?

Graham Langlands RL immortal died on 20 January this year and was buried with a host of RL royalty turning out for his funeral.
Indeed St.George/Illawara have gone so far as retiring his no 1 jumper!
And the NRL were in full praise for the RL immortal.
But a certain hypocracy exists in NRL HQ in being able to lavish praise on a RL immortal yet not even comment on serious hystorical sex abuse charges level against Langlands http://www.news.com.au/sport/nrl/league ... 9aadc142ea
Which ultimatley were not dealt with due to his being unfit to stand trial http://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2017-11-2 ... ce/9197574.
Now everyone deserves to be presumed innocent and I am not saying he would have been found guilty. Furthermore I am not saying that this type of offending is the domain of RL. It happens in any code due to the sick perversions of the individual, RL is not to blame for that.
But for the NRL to effectively not comment on the allegations (even to acknowledge that person or persons have made serious allegations and that until resolved they will not comment). But worse still for a victim who will never have their day is for RL royalty with NRL HQ to effectively lavish tribute on such an individual is astonishing. Some posters on this forum regularly claim the high moral ground and regularly bring up Essendon saga (even though Cronulla did very similar) and Ablett (even thou he is not even in the Hall of fame). I guess its a simple case of building irvory towers and protecting the image of the NRL, they should have at the very least just acknowledged the victim/s.

St George Illawarra CEO Peter Doust and NRL CEO Todd Greenberg also attended the service.
