But if we wanna look at the current situation and the potential for a few don burkes and the protection of such ugly figures, then we can only really talk about the AFL, right?

But seriously this ain't no laughing matter, let's just collectively point our fingers at a few recent cases. And yes, I'm asking you AFL fans to stand up and stand against abuse and harassment of women here in this thread. Don't be gutless cowards, be men and point at the AFL and its slimy individuals who abuse women and protect those who do so with me here

Ahem, lemme start with just three examples

1. Ricky Nixon, nick Riewoldt, nick dal santo the st kilda football club and the young 15-16 year old girl... how the fukk does a 15 year old girl get nude snaps of footy players and end up in bed with their 45 year old agent

2. Eddie McGuire jokes about drowning Caroline Wilson ... Joking about violence against women during a time when female victims of domestic violence murders was at an all time high

3. AFL ceo Gil machlachlan says he would welcome back AFL hq sexist men who stood down following the emergence of a toxic sexist culture in AFL hq office where women were ranked in a top ten rootability scale and had affairs with much younger women in much lower ranked office positions.

4. Richmond tigers premiership player shares topless pic of woman without her consent ...says he's really sorry and Gets three week suspension by the AFL

Folks this is just the tip of the iceberg and I think the AFL def deserves the Don Burke treatment. The institution needs to be exposed for what it is !!!

A company or organisation can't stop employees or people in that organisation from saying or doing things .
It's impossible

What they can do is when one of them does something bad they can punish .....as a deterrent to others ..don't do this or the consequences will be .

As shown repeatedly ..they don't like to punish .
They will make excuses they will do whatever to protect the AFL image .

Hence why there are still big problems with racism .

The problem as i see it is the leagues have all these people as part of their product. Essentially an asset. Some worth considerably more than others. So when they mess up they go into over drive to limit the damage to their product.

This approach won't stop people from fucking up. In fact the opposite. A person won't think twice about their actions if there is little to no consequence.

Ban a few of them for life and i can guarantee they will think twice before sharing that pic, setting fire to that person, posting a discriminatory rant, what ever it is, and before long there'll be a whole lot less of these scandals going on.
There has to be ZERO tolerance. Anything less is just bullshit.

Let me reiterate:
"some are worth considerably more that others"
On average AFL players are worth considerably more than NRL players, hence more to lose. Putting more effort in trying to mitigate damage done by a more valuable asset you end up with one league applying the "wet lettuce" the other "outed for a year".

But all this aside. Zero tolerance will reduce to frequency of scandals and i feel the only solution.

Dear lord sport capital? Do you seriously think we don't know about the reason you spout as to why the AFL covers up and doesn't punish for sexual abuse, harassment and assault? For fukk sake, read the title you dimwit. I've linked the AFL directly with channel nine and their defence of don bourke and we all know don Burke was protected by the head honchos at channel 9. NRL players are often worth just as much and more than AFL players so don't give us that shit as a reason the NRL don't punish.

I say the same deal at AFL hq, so would you agree that your CEO and several others at AFL hq need to be investigated? We've already had two of your filthy managers leave AFL hq in disgrace earlier this year. I think a royal commission may be needed to investigate... it's that bad
