Melbourne want NRL 9's

Post by leeroy*NRL* »

the Lucrative NRL 9's concept is growing in numbers in all shapes and form..

NRL know once it hits Australians shores popularity will only grow on the tournament
with tv Ratings and crowds to explode

with Bids coming left right and center around Australia.. it is only a matter of time before your city gets NRL Action on a different Level

I think it would have to be at night if held in Melbourne. So hot there now.

But it is true, League 9s and Rugby 7s are definitely becoming very popular.
And have a lot of potential to grow even more.

I think it should stay in NZ or go back and forth but not to Queensland and NSW. NZ one year, Melbourne, back to NZ then Perth the next. Help show case the game in none league strong holds

I think these shorter versions of the games are getting more and more traction.

I would love to see the tournament also shared around Australia..

What is also interesting is the Weliington 7's was once a huge hit
but ever since the 9's have come to N.Z

crowds are below 10k

Yeah the wellington 7's have taken a huge kick to the gonads, I have no idea why, maybe because the union lot refuse to make the decent players play in it?

nothing to do with 9s. it was going down hill before 9s started due the council deciding to breath test people before entering. selling water downed beer for full price, cancelling the street party in courtney place and cancelling the pre tournament parade, restricting the number of tickets you can buy at one time.

They basically said the 7s will no longer be the party it use to be and become more of a family event. Well we all know what happened there. Massive fail on their part. ](*,)

Yep - All Blacks great Eric Rush says the RL 9's 'killed most of the 7's" lololololol. Also said it was no use taking the 7's to Auckland as it was now a Rugby League city lololololololol.

So there ya have it pal. We can believe you or we can believe an All Blacks great. Pretty simple choice really lololololo.

"plus the prices were less than $100 the first year, then it got up to $200 which would've put a few people off. Food prices and the fun police killed it too."

exactly what I said grammar queen, it was dying a slow death long before the 9s, 9s may have impacted it but there were much bigger factors before hand sunshine. nice try though
