Isaac Heeny - plays in front of 61,000
Isaac Heeny and the Swans last night played in front of in excess of 61,000 last night and it got me thinking how lucky he was to choose AFL, if he was in the NRL he would have to play in SOO to come close to this and he may have to wait years to get called up! so far in his career he hasn't played in front of a crowd under 20,000! Yep folks playing in front of a large parochial crowd is what it's all about, not bearly 10,000 in Canberra! With the Giants surging up the ladder it will be no time that their young boys will consider them selfs equally blessed!

Heeney is a future star, and will be a favourite son in Sydney for a decade

Re: Isaac Heeny - plays in front of 61,000
I think it's great that rabble ball gives these lower grade athletes a chance to play a "professional" sport. Poor skinny Isaac couldn't cut it as a soccer player or RL player so started to play rabble ball where he immediately became the best player on the ground - as so many other failed athletes from other sports have done.
Look at the other failed athletes that have become super stars in rabble ball - Mike Pyke played Rugby very badly for a third rate country and then waltzed into rabble ball......and voila......he's a star!!!!
And poor little Kevin Jack. What would that kid have done to be able to emulate his great father Gary and play RL for Australia. But alas.........the poor bugger couldn't handle the skills and competitiveness of RL and gave it away in his teens and took up rabble ball. And what do ya know?????? Yep.......a few weeks later.......SUPER STAR!!!!
I look at rabble ball as being like a charitable organisation. They grab the outcasts, the less gifted, the blokes that trip over their shoe laces and make 'em super stars. It's great that in Australia there is such a low base level game to play for our less gifted people........what a country!!!!

Have you got proof of any of your comments about Heeney failing at other sports Mal, or are you lying?

Re: Isaac Heeny - plays in front of 61,000
The first sport Isaac played growing up was soccer, for two years from when he was six. His brother, Beau, played, too, most often in the same sides because he was only 15 months older and because Isaac was good enough to play up a grade anyway. Isaac was quick and determined, and he took to soccer right away. He would run the ball all the way down the ground, kick a goal and sprint back to the middle, tucking his shirt back in, pulling his shorts up and getting ready to do it all over again while his teammates were still giving each other high fives.
In his first 12-game season he kicked 68 goals. In one game, he scored 16.
As a cricketer he played up a grade, too, sometimes for two teams on the one weekend. He took some freakish catches as a wicketkeeper, averaged 216 runs, made a few representative teams

Gee Caitlan X.......Man. You're bringing up z grade kids stuff pal. He stuck with rabble ball because it was just so damn easy......as many others also found out.
What about those amateur Irish bog farmers who regularly stay out of the pubs just long enough to give the best elite professional rabble ballers in the country and annual flogging..........how funny is that!!!!

so the only evidence of him playing other sports showed he was a standout. Thats a far cry from your claims he failed.Mal wrote:Gee Caitlan X.......Man. You're bringing up z grade kids stuff pal. He stuck with rabble ball because it was just so damn easy......as many others also found out.

It's heaps funny mal. Because it's true. It won't be long now before an Irish bog farmer becomes the greatest player to ever play in the AFL.

Heaney would've known he'd never be a superstar in soccer. It's only in the AFL he could've made the top echelons of the codeXman wrote:so the only evidence of him playing other sports showed he was a standout. The best player in the country atm just happens to be indigenous and showed skills RL players could only dream of last night.

And now he has. I agree with the op and mal. What a great org the AFL is! Giving young people who'd never really make it in life a chance to be someone! Yay for the AFL

Heeney at 8 years old, after kicking 5 goals a game, would have known he'd never be a superstar at soccer........King-Eliagh wrote:Heaney would've known he'd never be a superstar in soccer. Skills RL players can only dream of .
Lol you've officially lost the plot .
Whenever a fumble star steps out of the protective insular fumble bubble & compete against real athletes they just don't seem to do too well
