While AFL has mostly expats playing their game outside Australia with few locals showing any interest in their farce of a game.

Rugby League international federation seems to be doing a great job at growing the sport in Eastern Europe at a grass roots level.
A lot of Russians and Serbians have a good physique for Rugby League, so it is no surprise the game is starting to get played there by locals.
