Yes crowd number are better then RL or soccer or union. This thread is not about that, it is about crowd numbers in AFL heartland being down. So keep on topic.
When reading the fans feedback at the bottom, there are alot of unhappy AFL fans in vic

Re: AFL crowds in AFL heartland well down
Seeing as this seems to be mainly in Melb.
I would put it down to fans of the lesser melb clubs(St Killed Her, WB, Tankbourne etc) sick of going to games to watch their teams knowing that they are not included in the AFL's Golden child plan.
Their team has no fucking chance in hell of making a GF due to the rigged comp.
They will wallow in mediocrity while AFL house move Heaven & Earth to make sure that The Swines ,& the Thuns are successful.
The Midgets also are looked after...& soon it will be the LIONS turn again.
They Will load them up with extra $$$$ or the best young stick insects & let heartland teams suffer ,,because they know the ****** fans will keep rolling up.....
well that's what they thought ,it looks like the fans are getting sick of the compromised comp.
If the same was happening in the NRL there would be a riot.
We have problems but we have a fair & even comp onfield.
Cant wait for a reply from the derpers.
It will be ...ignore the post & say ..why do you care?

Re: AFL crowds in AFL heartland well down
Well you'd be totally wrong as usual. Crowds are down for all Melbourne clubs including power clubs like Collingwood and Essendon. The factors are many and have been discussed at length in the media and on social forums.AFLcrap1 wrote:Seeing as this seems to be mainly in Melb.

However, surely we aren't expecting a mature discussion when pissy pants Dave claims AFL tickets sell for $6

I am wrong yet you deflected straight onto RD.
How come not one of the derpballers ever want to discuss the rigged compromised comp.
They ignore the problems of COLA
,The stacking of draft players in teams .

Re: AFL crowds in AFL heartland well down
I'm happy to discuss the topic properly as it's a genuine issue, but why bother when you have a moron like RD who claims AFL tickets are sold at an average cost of $6. That ends any mature discussion right there.AFLcrap1 wrote:I am wrong yet you deflected straight onto RD.

Good to see you've conceded the drop in crowds has NOTHING to do with the point you claimed. The Swans have had the COLA for many years, why start complain about it now they're having a succesful era? The stacking of drafts isn't an issue because its only available to new or struggling clubs

It has everything to do with people sick of watching their struggling team while the Golden Child teams get special benefits.

Re: AFL crowds in AFL heartland well down
You made the claim that struggling Melbourne clubs crowds are down, when in reality its across the board in Melbourne. You failure to adress that comment is a concession in my bookAFLcrap1 wrote:It has everything to do with people sick of watching their struggling team while the Golden Child teams get special benefits.

Every single new AFL club has had draft concessions to establish their team. Whats the issue?

Re: AFL crowds in AFL heartland well down
For crying out loud.
I see only one idiot AFL fan came in here to defend as even all the others know that the public is sick and tired of the bullshit, you can see it and not even be a fan of the game.
I really do struggle with the fact that the lower teams in Vic always seem to be the ones shafted, even the lesser teams in wa or sa get a ride along once in a while yet a massive stink hasn't erupted.
I would walk away from RL if I knew my team was being held back on purpose just so some newby team/s can not just be competitive, but dominating, what a joke.
If the League said, we will take 2 players from each club to make a new team in Perth, fair enough, but if they went out and took each clubs best two players, RL fans would not put up with this. AFL fans do, all because they have been sold some bs lie about the land of milk and honey (West Sydney) and what they perceive as an untouched sporting market. (that last bit is crazy but true)

Yep AFL fans including me unhappy with scheduling. ... Sunday afternoon was a big mistake. Fortunately AFL has acknowledged this and won't happen next year. Will crowds go up though ??!

If it were only the clubs you mentioned that were down you may have a point, but as pointed out powerhouse clubs also down . I think it is scheduling.AFLcrap1 wrote:I am wrong yet you deflected straight onto RD.

FFS paralytic how about you worry about the NRL - 1st NO AFL club has been kicked out - unlike the NRL Newtown Jets, North Sydney Bears, Western Reds, Illawarra Steelers, Adelaide Rams, Hunter Mariners, Queensland Crushers, Gold Coast Chargers!ParraEelsNRL wrote:For crying out loud.

2nd The AFL has a draft - bottom sides have access to talent even in expansion years, now with free agency it's up to experienced players - the NRL has check book transfer system - the NRL has had the bulldogs, Storm and now Titans and Broncos - clearly a system that's open to abuse!
Lastly the AFL has embarked on equalisation thru ticketing and football dept spending - something the NRL is light years off considering.
While far from perfect the AFL doesn't just get rid of it's established clubs but supports the - the NRL on the other hand has a track record of getting rid of them - again very hypocritical para!!!

Re: AFL crowds in AFL heartland well down
Agree, terrible scheduling plus a booking fee on top of membership fees are the main reasons the crowds are down in Melbourne. I'm glad the drop is signifcant because it'll ensure the AFL takes action. This should mean the crowds will return, and with the Adelaide crowds up and Perth in 4 years we'll see big increases in coming years.Fred wrote:Yep AFL fans including me unhappy with scheduling. ... Re: AFL crowds in AFL heartland well down
Naaa, you just have whores for clubs like North Melbourne who suck anyone off for a $ be it West Sydney, ACT, Gold Coast and what ever other Government department and tell the people of the area they are your new Kangaroos. If that's not bad enough, your mob have forced clubs to relocate and have also forced clubs to Merge/die.Swans4ever wrote:FFS paralytic how about you worry about the NRL - 1st NO AFL club has been kicked out - unlike the NRL Newtown Jets, North Sydney Bears, Western Reds, Illawarra Steelers, Adelaide Rams, Hunter Mariners, Queensland Crushers, Gold Coast Chargers!ParraEelsNRL wrote:For crying out loud.

The only RL clubs in your list that are not represented anymore anywhere are the Adelaide Rams and Hunter Mariners which the Rugby League establishment never created in the first place and the South Queensland Crushers and Gold Coast Chargers will more or less be back in the comp shortly except the name change to the Titans and whatever the name for the second Brisbane team will be.
So you don't know as much as you think you know about Rugby League.
Btw, what could Rugby League have done mr know all when Murdoch and Packer came a calling?
Fight them both off with the $20 million they had in the bank?
Bahahahaahahahahaah AFL logic.
