"Why are we only hearing about this now if it occurred last November?" Asked the news presenter.

"Because the AFL don't want this stuff known". Said the reporter. I'm other words.

Sweep sweep. [-X

Interesting to note that there's still a bunch of AFL players running round with serious crime links.

That's being kept nice and quiet too. [-X Sweep sweep

I mean it's clear the policy is not doing what it is supposed to do. While it sounds all nice and cosy like, it's really condoning drug use to a level that is unprecedented in any other organisation. I mean has anyone here ever worked in an org where you can get done for drugs three times and still have the opportunity if you tell them it was a mistake and you'll try and be good from now on? What other org will keep you employed when they are aware you have "links with serious crime"?

It's an absolute farce. Look I know what they're trying to do. Wrap their lil slender bodied athletes in some cotton wool but the fact is they're men! Albeit generally Bordering on ladyboyesque in appearance, we and the AFL mustn't forget these are grown (well not fully grown) men!

No more chances AFL! I mean I wonder what those at the conference said between sips of coffee during their morning tea break after seeing that joke of a presentation?

"Did you see that shit?"
"Yeah three chances and links with crime and they still keep em
On the roster!"
"Fuckin shocking. Listen I know we are not sposed to do this but I taped the whole presentation. And considering how unethical
That org is, it's my duty to share it with the media and the public don't you think?"
"Yes. Just wait six months and then out that fukkin AFL organisation for condoning and supporting druggies."

I think you might need to work on you numbers comprehension skills KE. Its 3 strikes and you are out, not 3 strikes and you get to say it was a mistake and please give me one more.
I'm not sure how this is news. Yes we know the one player who was banned from the league. Yes we know others have strikes on their records and it stands to reason that they would take some time off work to try to get on top of their issues.
As to the policy. It was a ground breaking policy at the time that tests its employees more often then any other organisation in the country. I will agree that perhaps it has one strike to many, but even with one strike less it still wouldn't fix the issues of drugs. It would be interesting to see the number of players caught by the RL policy, however they don't publish their results.

Remember if you self reported(Got tipped off that the testers were coming) then that didn't count .

For all its chest beating about the best drug policy in sport,it like the We are leading the field in stamping out Racism bullshit was just feelgood PR.
Its been the AFL's motto to chestbeat & be heard about how great they are.Its all about THE IMAGE.
The reality is very different

& with Vlad gone all the crap he swept under the Rug is starting to seep out.

Yes aflcrap that's right and what I was intimating at with3 strikes and you can still hang on in there. Just gotta self report after two strikes ;) easy peasy. An absolute joke. But please let's discuss the "links with serious crime matter". Seems like there may well be an unwritten three strike policy there too i.e self report after two and hangin with crims is ok in our org

Lordy Lordy Lordy! Carneys lil piddle fountain which he didn't sip is like last decades news now. And really nuttin in comparison [-X

It would seem the AFL already has a very thin distribution of quality players across it's already too many clubs so it has to keep hold of its drugged up and crime affiliated players.

If they were just honest and stated this as so I'd respect em. But it's the constant sweep sweepin, the lies and deception which disheartens me, a former player, so much.

Only after it was exposed .
Like most things Vlad kept quiet.
Remember the deal with the cops.
That was exposed also.

If these things had never come to light they would still be in place....all in the name of "THE IMAGE"
