World Leaders and Celebrities Embrace the "Australian Game"

Post by Beaussie »

Nothing more Australian. Great to see isn't it.

WHEN a celebrity lands in Australia, it's part of the standard itinerary to visit an AFL club and pull on a jumper for a photo shoot.

It shows they are one of us, or something like that.

The latest example is US rapper Snoop Dogg, who is now an honorary Gold Coast Suns fan.

From singers to actors, stars from other sports and international leaders, here is our hall of fame.

What a great and unique symbol of Australia to offer overseas guests is the jumper of the great Australian game.
Nothing symbolises Australia more than this game wrt all the cultures of Australia including aboriginal culture.
In fact it's the only symbol. It's the only truly Australian product left. Think about it. There's nothing left that symbolises Australia that includes all Australians.
Nice try Cos.

So where are the efforts by the NRL to do the same thing?

Thought so.

In your dreams, Dave. YOUR abortion is the one that's on the nose across most of the world. The love for AFL is ever increasing and you are in.........a river in Egypt.

Comfortable with your lot? That's not a good thing. That's a bad thing. And it's true insecurity, because a sport that doesn't evolve and expand is a sport that is doomed.

the major difference is that there would be ALOT more overseas celebs would know more about rugby league and nrl than the AFL, all they no about the AFL is some odd looking singlet they are handed.

same with about 6 other Man U players.. & scores of other Celebs throughout the UK .. they don't need to be in staged .. fake .. crap ... photo ops

their love of our game is genuine
