What is a rugby league experience ?

Does anyone know how the nrl defined what a rl experience was when they stated 50000 people had a rl experience ? Did they operationalise this ?

Has to be the whole box and dice. Playing, watching (both at the venue and on TV), participating in other ways (referees, coaches etc) and purchasing merchandise. If it's 50000 then they are in big trouble I reckon!
