13 nRL clubs average crowd down
Brisbane DOWN
Canberra DOWN
Can'terbury DOWN
Gold Coast DOWN
Manly DOWN
Newcastle DOWN
New Zealand DOWN
North Queensland DOWN
Parramatta DOWN
Penrif DOWN
Souths DOWN
St George DOWN
Wests DOWN
Overall nRL average crowd DOWN by 4.4%
Why have nRL crowds taken such a hit this year? There's been a lot of threads on LU about the sport becoming more boring this year (was that even possible?), others have blamed the nRL for taking away the shoulder charge and losing fans who only watched for the "tough acts" as a result, and some have blamed the emergence of other sports teams in western Sydney as a result of the shocking western Sydney nRL crowds.
My guess? All of the above. And once GWS start winning it's going to get a whole lot worse for the nRL "heartland".

You forgot tp list all the unsavaory acts committed by rl players this season, but then there's always something of that nature going on.
This year the post SOO blues has hit really really hard. IMO SOO is counterproductive to the nrl.
When you say the emergance of other WS sports teams that implies people shifting preferences.
IMO, this isn't the case, not just yet, but rather fans of WS rl feeling neglected.

season finished is it f wit ?
no
:_<> :_<> :_<>
jesus
what a *****
half of these 13 will most likely be ahead of 2012 after the next 4 weeks as some are just a hundred or so off 2012
meanwhile
the VFL has half of its clubs behind their 2012 averages
& some
miles ... & fucking miles behind , with no chance of getting ahead of last year
why
because it is utter shite
I have no doubt
the NRL will have fewer clubs behind their 2012 averages .. then the VFL at the end of the H&A

no

I recall you making a post similar a few weeks ago, but you however said AFL crowds were down in every state bar Victoria. You're a sad hypocritical liar Dave, for shame.Raiderdave wrote:season finished is it f wit ?![]()

AFL crowds are up over last season and nRL crowds are down. Well down. Deal with it.

There's plenty more reason why nRL crowds are down yes, the incompetency of the ARLC is another.cos789 wrote:You forgot tp list all the unsavaory acts committed by rl players this season, but then there's always something of that nature going on.

Re: 13 nRL clubs average crowd down
By the looks of the crowds and TV ratings, the only dying league is the nRL. SoO got a small increase this year whilst the entire nRL competition has suffered every weekend during and after SoO. Is it worth it? At the end of the day, it's all about the money and ratings for the nRL. Glad I don't follow that abortion of a sport.

Re: 13 nRL clubs average crowd down
This is the point, Dave "Allen". All you precious supporters care about is SOO. They don't care about club rugby. And yet you trumpet the SOO as the pinnacle of the game. It's the freaking albatross you loser! The NSW Blues and the QLD Cane Toads are dragging fans AWAY from club games! Why? Because the SOO is an event! If it was just another rugby game you watch the crowd numbers drop, like it is for the City/Country game for example!
