Post by King-Eliagh »

 Pinching! That's right, firstly we have an AFL player choosing to pinch another..ahhhhh :? 8-[ And then we have the match review panel charging him for it!!! I mean seriously! whaaaaaat thaaaa faaaaarrk!? :(/

And it doesnt stop there folks! For a 6 minute giggle follow this link, but if you just wanna seem em discuss the pinchin, go to 3:59mins :_<>

http://www.AFL.com.au/news/2013-06-24/d ... -pinching-

There's king hits albeit soft ones gettin 1 - 2 weeks and bumps that dont even touch the head gettin the same! And alls the while the Chair of the match review panel (the head confused buffoon) and some clown acting as an interviewer talk about it all with straight faces. Seriously, I dont think one of the decisions was objective or valid, none of the explanation made any sense at all. Seriously, just watch it if you dont believe me.

Folks, if you're missing your weekly laughs, if you cant watch your favourite comedy show for whatever reason, tune in to the AFL's "Match Review Panel" each week! :_<>

They discuss pinching...'seriously' :(/

Omg ... Eels has cloned Dave lol.

KE I don't think you're on your pat Malone re the AFL tribunal ... It has been a constant source of derision for many an AFL commentator and supporter. For once you and your average AFL supporter are on the same page.

Thanks phelpsy :)

I'm glad to see the avg AFL supporter agrees the AFL has lost it's marbles in regards to its ridiculous softening and over ruling of violence in a contact sport.

Pinching  I mean what has the code come to??? Raiders right netball is kinda tougher

I don't support violence in sport .. But I do physical toughness and courage. I think the need to protect the head with overwhelming evidence of the long term damage has seen a tougher stance. I have no problem with a player needing to be responsible for not contacting the head in a hip and shoulder. I get annoyed at the inconsistency however in rulings. I don't support a punch ons that for sure and I can tell you that at a few primary schools I visited after soo 1 that's all the kids were talking about. What it does is condone physical violence as a way to address issues, which is rarely appropriate

 Ahhhh phelpsy, you dont understand the meaning of violence. Marngrook footy is inherently violent you silly lil turd.

The world loves, condones and will always use violence conducted in a controlled, effective and understandable manner. i.e. a footy tackle or a punch to the noggin of a bloke who plays unfairly by aiming to headbutt the opposition. In effect the brawl in SOO 1 was a "tougher stance to protect the heads of many". The ref's never saw what was going on unfortunately.

The kids are smarter than you me thinks phelpsy

I guess Neanderthals will continue to exist lol. I don't want kids or anyone thinking violence is an acceptable act and indeed the preferable act. But I do accept there will always be those parts of society shall we say that enjoy watching a punch on .

 Ah phelpsy you condone violence each and every time you go and watch a footy match you silly twit.

Violence
1. Physical force exerted for the purpose of violating, damaging, or abusing: crimes of violence.
2. The act or an instance of violent action or behavior.
3. Intensity or severity, as in natural phenomena; untamed force: the violence of a tornado.
4. Abusive or unjust exercise of power.
5. Abuse or injury to meaning, content, or intent: do violence to a text.
6. Vehemence of feeling or expression; fervor

Most of these listed definitions occur in every tackle on the AFL field my friend. In the NRL the acts are considerably more forceful but hey, the men are just tougher in that code...it by no means means the AFL comp is not violent. Phelpsy I think your reasoning and understanding are tied in a little knot my friend.

Now settle down phelpsy. Just because you dont understand what violence is doesnt mean you gots ta get nasty. Biffo on the footy field should be looked on in the context in which it occurs. i.e. standing toe to toe to someone who's been headbutting blokes should be looked on favourably. ;)
