Thanks for the facts eels. I predicted 50k when I saw it on the tele. Mammoth and going by your info eels it looks as though they may have underdone the count by 5k. Go league!

I thought it was closer to 60K
after looking like it was going to be a tad dissapointing at 3.30pm

it just kept filling up to about the 20th minute of the game
the very top decks hold about 25K between them ( the western one behind the camera had a few thousand in it )

but that was it for empty
barely a seat spare anywhere else in the ground

52K looked a tad under for mine but an exellent turnout anyway

well done Dogs fans ... they were out in force , it was about 35K dogs & 17K Souths

the Dogs provided more fans by themselves yesterday
then the Swines & Midgets will combined today 8-[

What a disgraceful code. Fudging crowd numbers is and has been the norm for years in the NRL. And just as I said at the time, the 51k supposedly at ANZ Stadium on Good Friday was utter rubbish.

Fudgey League :^o
Firmer figures

Clubs should be concerned about NRL chief executive Dave Smith's crackdown on crowd figures. For years clubs have inflated the numbers and the NRL has accepted them. Smith wants the real figures, which could affect the game's saleability. There is sure to be a 10 per cent drop in reported crowds. The game under most serious suspicion is the Bulldogs-Souths Good Friday game, where a record 51,686 crowd was posted. Given that Todd Greenberg is coming in as the head of football for the NRL, we'd hope the Canterbury CEO has no part in inflating crowds now or in the future. When contacted about the Good Friday figure, Greenberg said he stood by it as being correct.
