enough of your but but butting cockhead , thats no more valid a reason for declining crowds in your dying sport then our code playing in tiny stadiums restricting our ability to increase our average
answer the question
will the VFL be well ahead of their 2012 tally going into rnd 7... like the NRL will be
they won't will they ?
the only place your sport is even holding its own ... is in Vic
hell only 39K attended the western derby in WA
10K seats were vacant in Adelaide
the Wions can't attract 20K members , yet less then 6 years ago they had 30K
if the Thuns ( who had an average of 20K just 2 years ago ) keep their average above 10K this year they'll be doing well
the swines . even as the premiers
will stroll out to a near 2/3 empty ANZ .. a ground they filled 2/3 regularly just a few years ago
the Midgets have just 3500 members in western sydney ... & regularly play to crowds of less then 5k there despite 40 to 50 million spent on their set up
when will you clowns understand
you're game is in decline ... huge decline
its had its day ..
Vicky kicky has tried & failed pretty much everywhere except its very own backyard in Melb & some success in WA & SA which is faltering too
its gone about 2cm outward since 1896
the reality is stark & harsh
but one that must be dealt with

1) Subiaco Stadium only holds 43,000 you idiot. Game was a sellout.
2) AAMI Stadium was a sellout. Couldn't buy tickets (I know because I had friends keen on going that couldn't). The game was on at 8:00 at night, which made it impossible for country members to come. Let's see the Broncos get 42,000 at 8:00 at night in the pouring rain you ******.
3) If the Lions make the finals see the bandwagoners jump on as fast as they jump off the Broncos.
4) The Swans are still the highest drawing team in sydney across all football codes, and have been for the past 18 years in a row. Until that is no longer true, you can't hang shit on the Swans. Their direct comparison in the nRL the Storm, haven't even been able to beat the attendances of the Bulldogs or the Kangas.
5) For the last time, give us a fkn source for your insane bullish*t numbers re: the Giants' 2013 WS membership figures or STFU. The whole point of an internet forum is to make a compelling argument, and when you repeatedly use fictional figures you lose what little credibility you had.
Let me break the situation down further for you. This is the short term pain period for the AFL, following the tough decision to expand into areas that didn't want a team. Both new clubs play out of stadiums that hold less people than the league average attendance, so by simple mathematics, even if they sold out every week (which noone was naive enough to think would happen) they would always bring down the league crowd average. But their crowds - during a period of AWFUL onfield performances - were comparable with what heartland nRL clubs were getting. Hell the Suns actually beat the Titans in their first year. But where they've really made strides is in helping to grow the game. Participation on the GC and WS is well up. Dismiss it all you want. We love t when you dismiss the participation growth, we hope you keep ignoring it. Death by a thousand cuts is what'll end your wretched sport.
Port Adelaide had the worst period in their history, but that looks to be turning around. Where previously they had dodgy SA ATM operators as sponsors, they now have international car maker Renault. They have a President with a national profile, 30,000 members, and next year move to a centralised city stadium.
Brisbane made some shocking errors which cost them fans, from Fev to the Paddlepop Lion, but they're building, and just you watch the theatre goers jump back on.
The Storm have been as successful as any team in any sport in recent memory, and they still can't grow. They can't make a dent with all of the help of News Ltd and the Hun, and when News leave and their golden trio of stars retire, they are utterly clunged.
You say you've only lost 30 fans per gme since 2005, I say you haven't managed to grow your game in 7 years. You've peaked. The AFL can explain its recent drop with the introduction of 2 teams that were thrashed on the field each week. What's your excuse?
