St Kilda Player Jason Gram Charged Amidst Stalking Allegation
Post by: Triple M 30 October, 2012 - 1:17 PM
St Kilda's Jason Gram has been granted bail after appearing in court accused of breaching an intervention order.
Police allege Gram sent 98 text messages and 16 Facebook messages to a woman, reportedly his ex-girlfriend, who had an intervention order out against him.
The Moorabbin Magistrates Court was told Gram was charged in September with two counts of breaching an intervention order and bailed on his own undertaking.
He continued to contact the woman after he was bailed.
Gram was arrested last night and remanded in custody.
Police opposed bail saying they feared Gram will continue to contact the woman.

Kangaroos' AFL player Campbell arrested
North Melbourne forward Matthew Campbell is under police investigation and his AFL club is deciding how to sanction him after he was thrown out of a casino and allegedly damaged a car.
Campbell, who had been drinking, was asked to leave Melbourne's Crown Casino about 1am AEST on Wednesday, the Kangaroos said in a statement.
After refusing to leave, Campbell had to be removed by security.
He then allegedly damaged a parked car belonging to a casino staff member, the Kangaroos said.
He was detained until the arrival of police, who arrested and then interviewed the 25-year-old, before releasing him.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said it was alleged that a number of panels on a car were damaged and confirmed a 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
"He was later released and the investigation continues," she said.
The Kangaroos said they would not comment further while the matter was in the hands of police, but would also decide on their own penalty.
"We know Matt was drinking prior to the incident and we are bitterly disappointed with his behaviour," North's interim chief executive Cam Vale said.
"We are still to determine the next course of action regarding a club-imposed sanction."
The Kangaroos' season finished last weekend when they were thrashed by West Coast in an elimination final.

CARLTON veteran Heath Scotland's post-football dream of becoming a firefighter could be jeopardised if he is convicted for his part in a wild pub brawl, a court has heard.
The Carlton best-and-fairest winner has this morning pleaded guilty to a charge over the January incident.
Appearing at New South Wales' Albury court Scotland, flanked by family members, pleaded guilty to one charge of assault causing actual bodily harm.
Another charge of common assault was withdrawn.
Scotland's lawyer Tony Burns told the court his client was expecting a hefty penalty from Carlton Football Club.
He said the penalty could see him suspended for three weeks and be fine up to $5000.
The star midfielder was charged following the wild brawl at New South Wales holiday spot Mulwala in which he king-hit another man.
Scotland, 32, was charged with common assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and violent disorder over the January incident.
Scotland's brother Brett was also charged over the incident.
Police alleged Heath Scotland king-hit a man leaving him unconscious minutes after a fight broke out at the Mulwala Ski Club about 1.40am on January 29.
Scotland was later removed by security.
The attack was captured on CCTV.
Scotland told club officials at the time he had stepped in to help his brother.
The court heard a conviction could stop Scotland's plan of joining the MFB post football.
Brett Scotland, 40, pleaded guilty to one count of violent disorder and was convicted and fined $600.
Two Melbourne men, including one attacked by Scotland, have already been sentenced over the incident.
They were each convicted and fined $600.
Scotland is expected to be sentenced shortly.

Cat Jesse Stringer arrested over alleged assault of woman
Alex Oates | June 16th, 2012
GEELONG footballer Jesse Stringer was yesterday arrested over the alleged assault of a woman.
Stringer, 21, was taken into custody and questioned by police for allegedly assaulting a young female yesterday morning.
A source last night confirmed the young Cat was facing charges stemming from an incident at a house in Grovedale.
Police would not comment on the matter, while Police Media offered a statement.
"Police were called to a Grovedale address just after 7am this morning in regards to an alleged assault," Police Media spokeswoman Melissa Seach said.
"A 21-year-old Grovedale man was arrested and released pending further inquiries."
Stringer made his AFL debut in Round 4 this year and has played eight senior matches, kicking three goals.
Recruited from Port Adelaide Magpies in the SANFL, Stringer joined the Cats at the end of the 2009 season via the AFL rookie draft.
He endured two injury-plagued seasons at Geelong before finally getting his breakthrough chance at AFL level this season, where he turned heads by hardly looking out of place alongside his premiership-winning teammates.
Stringer missed the entire 2010 season with a hip injury and was restricted by a knee setback in 2011.
But the Cats saw something in the promising onballer and retained him on their rookie list for this season.
He was promoted to the senior list in April and made his senior debut against Richmond at Simonds Stadium.
Geelong chief executive Brian Cook, football manager Neil Balme and media manager Kevin Diggerson could not be contacted last night.
The investigation is continuing.
Police said Stringer was likely to face court at a later date.
