Post by King-Eliagh »

Now why cant the AFL louts in here get a grip and start talking like their demented ho leader?? Found this link here on this very site

http://www.foxsports.com.au/AFL/AFL-pre ... public_rss

Looks like the tsunami predictions are well and truly over at AFL HQ. He says 40+years or maybe they wont even make it. Funny thing is Andrew Demtripoo sounds more like raiderdave than any of the AFL clowns on this site

Well I better run off now to my Marngrook training. My skills are coming along quite nicely and the coach is ever approving I must say. Catch you chumps later eh.

All he says is that the AFL will be second to RL in Sydney's West for the foreseeable future!

What a revelation!

A humble leader. =D>

an arrogant F.uck ...." we want to co exist "..

the mating call of an oaf who's just realised how entrenched RL is in Western Sydney
we want to be friends
Its vomit inducing

it would have probably been half ok with them just coming into our heartland
but all bets were off when his merky .. slimy hands signed the documents poaching OUR stars
by simply paying them more then any NRL club could ... it was agressive ... disrespectful & provocative

we won't forget that treachery
it was war from that point on

there will be no peace
there is no mutual admiration ... none

VFL fans say we are the ones talking up the war .... yet their people say we won't know what is going to hit us & the NRL needs to watch out
they inflame the debate
then call us paranoid

we didn't start this

but you can be as sure as f.uck
we'll finish it

You'll finish it will you? How?

We already know old salt RL fans like yourself will never show interest in the AFL, just like I look at RL on foxtel and giggle at what a stupid one dimensional game it is. It will never take off in AFL states. People in these states have chosen their sport and attend in record numbers.

But there are so many people in Sydney who don't care for RL! Participation numbers for AFL in Sydney are very good compared to RL in AFL states. the game will grow, it will be slow, but you've got to start sometime, and after a massive TV rights deal is as good a time as any.

Interestingly, did you see AD never mentioned the word tsunami?! In fact he indicated the AFL know it will be a long long process. But they have planned for this and are prepared to see it through. So sorry Dave. If you think they are just there for 8 years then bailing out you are sadly mistaken.

Buzz: You're spending $200 million on Gold Coast and Sydney's west. The AFL lost $23 million last year. It's a big risk.

Andrew: It's a massive risk, we've said that. We went to our clubs, who are our stakeholders, and said we want to spend $220 million over the next six years and that will mean we're going to invest in these new clubs. On top of that, we want you to support it and help us work out what draft concessions are available to the new teams. They need the best players. The club unanimously supported the expansion and draft concessions. It's a huge investment which the clubs have bought into and the club is like us in knowing we won't see the benefits for 15 to 20 years.
The clubs are totally behind the expansion. The AFL know it will be slow. They are in this for the long haul.

Buzz: How long until GWS makes a profit?

Andrew: Our funding model finishes in six years. By that stage we expect them to be breaking even or making a profit. The Suns exceeded our expectation and made a profit last year.

I think it's better than yours, yes, by a massive margin. Hence the AFL have over triple the members! Over double the attendance. Over double the revenue. Teams playing in every state and territory. Double the media interest.

I'd suggest they will be the smart ones when the AFL have a decent presence in every capital city in Australia in 30 years.

doesn't matter what you think
doesn't matter what brained washed morons do in the **** states
what matters is if you can convince people north of the murray that it is a better product

result after 30 years

FAIL...............

why

it is inferior to RL as far as most people are concerned up this way
500 million dollars later ... & almost no one up here is anymore in love with yr cr@p sport then before the swans arrived.

good one VFL

Ah, no.

The AFL is stronger in its states than RL is in its heartland. Expansion will make us even stronger. Sure, RL fans in general don't like AFL (and the return is true as well) but there are plenty in NSW and QLD that don't care for RL. Plenty indeed.

The swans, lions and suns are already averaging more fans than almost all RL teams, and a lot more than the only RL team in an AFL state. The suns have been well established with sustainable infrastructure and are already financially viable.

I know you don't care about AFL states but if RL ever wants to expand in Australia it will need to. Australia is a big country with a lot more than just NSW you know.
