GWS in the Draft
Did I hear correctly on the news tonight that GWS have secured 11 of the top 14 draft picks???
My god, if true, they are certainly going to be a team to be reckoned with in a few years time.

Re: GWS in the Draft
Clearly the AFL knows that the key to the Giants being a success in general is to be a success on the field. That's how sports are followed in Sydney. They follow winners only for the most part.

Re: GWS in the Draft
Sydney is a very fickle market that's true. That said the Swans have built up an impressive hardcore supporter base of 25k. Hopefully the Giants can build a similar hardcore supporter base. Success on the field in the early years will be the key.

How is GWS looking lately folks? Beaussie, if they are looking the goods with the draft picks, can you remind your Dad about the bet I have with him. I think it was more than 6 wins. If they are not looking so good never mind reminding your pops beaussie

I must admit I was surprised they passed on so many picks in the draft this week. I'm sure they know what they are doing though.

Re: GWS in the Draft
The only reason I can think of that they would do that is that they believe that they have who they need with experience and are concentrating on development - as any new club should.

Re: GWS in the Draft
I see their first draft pick pattison is injured (patella) and prob wont be playing until may. Pity as there's big wraps on this kid but plenty of time for him to show what he can do in season 1.

Re: GWS in the Draft
Yes shame about that news. He will be available sometime in April/May from what I read. Will be interesting to see his development along with the other upcoming young future stars of the game at GWS.
