I think 28,580 is just about a sellout at AAMI ... corporates were the only seats vacant ... about 1000 of these
all seats to the general public were sold.
& how bout that TV auidence beaussie... twice the size of anything the Swans could conjur up in 2011

I don't recall there being any NRL on either the night the Swans got a whopping 19K to a Final at ANZ a few years back

AFL is culturally .. the shallowest game in Australiarick-james wrote:Will we ever see a crowd haka at an AFL game?,LOL
it has very little by way of diversity
yes , generationally it has people of varying backgrounds play & watch it
Greeks , Italians .... etc
but so does the NRL
all other sports have present & existing diversity
the NRL... Rugby Union ... Soccer
Cricket ... Basketball ... every other sport
, except AFL

a very one dimensional ..... shallow sport is AFL

You would however remember the 70,000+ AFL crowds in Sydney though. More than an entire round of NRL games in Sydney those weekends.Raiderdave wrote:FunnyBeaussie wrote:Not a sellout. Stop lying. You know as well as I do there was more than 1 and in any case, they are crowds in Sydney for the AFL that the NRL can only ever dream of. You can't even sellout a 30k stadium in Melbourne for a preliminary final... yes a final for a spot in the grand final and the minor premiers Storm can't even sellout out they tiny AAMI Park. Absymal.

theres been 2.. 70K crowds for the Swans in the last 30 yearsBeaussie wrote:Stop lying. both 9 years ago
& gee... past Glory's much
hasn't been 1 since .... there won't be one again in our life time
the decline in crowds for the Swans continues .... they are a club that will struggle badly when another club GWS .. takes a portion of the small market share they currently have
both Sydney AFL sides will be basket cases for a long long time
the Storm will be the 2nd most popular side in the NRL behind the Broncos in the next 5 years averaging over 20K
& selling out Etihad for finals
the Swans will be on life support at around the same time , worse then Port Adelaide are ATM ... near to folding up altogether
great times ahead .... great times
