9,963 NRL Fans in Adelaide
Oh dear, just 9,963 last night for the one and only game of Rugby League in Adelaide in 2011. How embarrassing.

Perth was a disaster for Rugby League with the Western Reds. What's changed? Serious question.pussycat wrote:They will take a little work. Though Perth, who we are going to next , won't take much. Over 16K and it was p****** down.
As for Adelaide, why does the NRL bother? 9k for the one and only game of Rugby League in Adelaide this season. Truly pathetic, and why did they take the game to the Adelaide Oval? Stick to Hindmarsh Stadium if you must go to Adelaide once a year, the ground would at least look half full.

40K to the last 2 games there .. & it had no opposition either game.. everyone knows they're there playing ( unlike the NRL ) & you get crowds barely a 3rd of the capacity of the ground
you call that AFL heartland do you

Yes we do. The average attendance for the Crows at Football Park this year is 33K, higher than the highest club average in the NRL (the Broncos). The average attendance for the Power at Football Park this year is 21K, higher than all NRL clubs except for the Broncos (the Bulldogs are on 20K IIRC). One of the last two games played at Football Park was played in the pouring rain - and that will always push the down button there because it's not a good wet weather ground for spectators. Adelaide Oval will be better once the refurbishment is complete.
Adelaide is home to strongest state league in the country - even stronger than the current VFL. That's AFL heartland and SA are very proud of it.

falling .. falling
free falling in fact
as they are in most places outside of Victoria
the interest in the AFL is waning everywhere except Melbourne
it must be worrying that you have nothing else to back it up
like we could if interest in our club comp was waning ( which it isn't )
