Twilight Grand Final

Whats everyones thoughts on a twilight grand final???

I think its a ridicolous idea and the AFL need to leave the game alone and stop messing with everything!! its really starting to get on my nerves and im sure other peoples too that they just wont leave the game alone!!
whoever the people are that make all these calls are nothing short of a disgrace! traditional aussie rules is a thing of the past and it sucks!!

I'm all for it as it will ensure more money come the next broadcasting agreement. I also find the atmosphere is much better at night games when compared to day games. If tradition means so much, perhaps we should go back to all games on a Saturday afternoon. Silly isn't it.

Agreed that constant changes to the rules are however a worry. Our game is becoming less and less physical each season.

I think the Twilight final should be trialled. The benefits I see :- Patrons attending the final would be more inclined to stay in the city after the game, which would boost local businesses. Secondly, international viewers, those particularly in Europe & the UK would more than likely switch onto our telecast to watch the game live, thus greater opportunity to promote the game further beyond our shores. What have we got to lose? We already have Sunday twilight matches, which nobody seems to be making a fuss about?

There are more day games than night games in a season, and even a twilight grand final will disadvantage teams who don't cope well with the night conditions. I'm even unhappy that they are playing the VFL grand final on Friday night at Docklands. Grand finals belong in the daylight hours. It's better for the crowds going home as well - especially families. The huge crowd late at night would be lousy for kids.

As Kaskill said - leave the game alone. If it ain't broke, there's nothing to fix!
