For every 100 women, only 97 men: census
Your average Aussie bloke is around 36, is most likely to have a partner and two children, earn $600-$799 a week and is likely to be paying off a house.
The 2006 census released on Wednesday showed that the average Australian woman was slightly older at 37 years, earned a median income of between $250 and $399 a week and had given birth to two children so far.
But women aged 65 years and over had given birth to an average of three children.
The 15th national census also revealed that for every 100 women there were 97 men in Australia, which is attributed to the fact that women live longer than men.
Not surprisingly, the census showed women did more domestic work than their male counterparts.
The average Australian woman 15 years and older spent a median of five to 14 hours every week cleaning up around the house compared to the average man who put in less than five hours in domestic chores.

I am not so sure about that. Clubs in my younger days always seemed to have way more men than women.
