Farewell, goodbye and thanks for the service and memories

Post by The Portonian »

As the season draws to a close, I thought I'd slot this topic in to pay homage and thanks for those players who are retiring from the game. If you'd like to add their names to the roster, please do. I'll start it off with some notables from my lads at Port Adelaide.

Gavin Wanganeen 1991 - 2006
300 AFL games (127 with Essendon, 173 with Port. Only Aboriginal player to reach 300)
1993 (Essendon) and 2004 (Port) Premierships
2 Pre Season Cup Premierships
1993 Brownlow Medal
Inaugural Club Captain for Port Adelaide
2 Club Best and Fairest (1 with Essendon, 1 with Port)
5 times All Australian
AFL Indigenous Team of the Century

Josh Francou 1997 - 2006
156 AFL games
2 Pre Season Cup Premierships
Brownlow Medal Runnerup 2002
All Australian 2002

Adam Kingsley 1997 - 2006
170 AFL games
2004 Premiership player
2 Pre Season Cup Premierships
Michael Tuck Medallist, 2001 Pre Season Cup
1 John Cahill Medal - Club Best and Fairest

Thanks for all the memories guys, you'll stand tall in Port's history.
