The fact in this thread are that the NRL did in actual fact have the biggest prelim crown this year out of the NRL and the AFL. =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

If QLFAFL and you are stating that it was higher due to being inflated because it included wives etc it is total BS and if you want we can take it to the BS files and have Striker adjudicate on it. Lets see if any one of the two of you can produce some hard evidence that that was the case. :P :P :P :P :P :P

That is the FACT part of my statement - The NRL outdrew the AFL with the highest attendance of the prelim games this year. :D :D :D :D :D :D

what a laughable little contest youve got going there. It totally depends on the matchups. If the Eagles and Crows had home prelim finals the NRL would win if they had 2 sydney teams playing. If the AFL had a melbourne v melbourne final the AFL would win comfortably. Well done to the NRL for finally getting a crowd above 50k. Weve had over 20 this year

One thing I have noticed so far with the AFLQLD kid is that he isn't very good with numbers. AFL = more players = more player wives GFs parents etc and need more assistant staff, MCG needs more people that work there, it is after all 25% bigger in capacity, take all them away and what have you got, the AFL crowd is even smaller.
Mark you dunce. The NRL have even admitted counting staff, players etc in their crowd figure, not the AFL. That's what qldafl was referring too.

Pies is right too. The NRL crowd was a huge jump on last year so according to the NRL fans on this site that must be fabricated. [-X

Finally, the AFLs 127k for the round would have generated around $12m. The NRLs cheaper tickets and lower total of 95k would have generated only $4.9m

Whats fabricated is your nonsense. I found a couple of webstes to do a comparison, which could be done reasonably fairly across the first couple of weeks. Ticket prices don't appear even close to the gap your trying on above. Overall, they would be similiar across the park judging by these two websites, with NRL slightly more affordable. So not sure how you work out NRL made nearly 1/3 of AFL. BS files for you, again I am sure.

IT'S at the same stadium, but a ticket to the next week's Swans AFL preliminary final will cost twice the equivalent seat at the NRL grand final qualifier the following night.

Yep, and you thought your latest power bill was bad.

When the Swans host the winner of tomorrow night's semi-final between Collingwood and West Coast the most expensive AFL ticket ($160 platinum) is exactly double the same category NRL ticket ($80 category one).

The cheapest entry level ticket for an adult is also double the price - $70 compared to $35 when the Bulldogs face the winner of tomorrow's Rabbitohs-Raiders semi.

The NRL has 1 decent crowd for their finals so far. Why? Because they had a final involving 2 local teams that are also 2 of their best supported. Their fans are all high fiving like its a sign of things to come. Amazing how quickly they've forgotten about some of their other shocking finals crowds like manly.

Did you forgot you posted up 2.5times more did you. And dropped in a point 9 to make it look more like 3 times.

Notice I mentioned that across the board, they are simliar with NRl slightly lower. Not just pick out what I think others want to see, unlike yourself. And beyond that I supported my post with URL's, something you commonly ask for, but struggle with yourself.

seriously, what the f are you on about?

The AFL had 127k in preliminary finals week. At a conservative estimate of $100 dollars per ticket this comes to 12.7m

The NRL had 96k. The link I showed, and many other media reports showed the NRls tickets were half the AFL ticket prices. Therefore they would have earned 96k x $50= 4.8m

Are you disputing this? :-k the websites you showed agreed with what ive said when you look at the prelim finals week 3

Well I was talking about the prelim round only.

But while we're on the first two rounds:

- going on the links you provided the AFLs finals tickets for these rounds were about 20-25% more expensive than the NRLs finals tickets.

- finals round 1 saw 220k attendance for the AFL and around 100k for the NRL. Going on $50 for AFL tickets they earned 11m and the NRL would have only earned 4m. :D

- finals round 2 saw 96k attend AFL and 52k attend the NRL. This calculates to around 5m for the AFL and 2m for the NRL. :D

So in total for the finals so far (including Prelim round) i estimate the NRL have earned 11m and the AFL a whopping 29m!

Isn't that around 2.5 times more? :-k :-k

it will attract 800K veiwers in Sydney alone on TV
