The dominant body type usually contains a polynesian face? You seriously are blind right? Blind and scared of difference I'd say. The facts are polynesians represent approx 30% in the nrl and approx half of this 30% were those of polynesian descent born in Australia, or in other words, Australians. Fukk me dead lets stick with the facts rather than throw BS fear driven statements out as fact from now on eh?pookus wrote:See now we're talking and noone is being racist. Easy huh. now I am not saying that the race of these guys is a draw back what I am saying is that with all the rule changes turning the league in to the wwf bigger more powerful men are more suited to the game. They have also taken aerobic capacity out as a factor with the interchange making it very hard for smaller nimble players to apply their craft. It has not been organic it is the by product of Ill thought policy. What makes this situation difficult is that the dominant body type in the game is usually contains a polynesian face. The question is how to return the game to a majority of players without being percieved as racist. Dave Taylor is a great example there is no way this big dud would get a go if he had to play any where near 80 no way.King-Eliagh wrote:And here we have another doofus who has narrow vision. Pookus, what do you really mean by 'if you are pulling 60% of your players from 5% of the pop'?pookus wrote:If you are pulling 60 percent of your players from 5 percent of the population it doesn't take einstein to work out that the 95 percent not getting a chance might become despondent. This isn't racist just a concern that will take balls to address.
I know what you're trying to say but please tell me where the problem lies? If people of polynesian descent are succeeding and getting into the NRL on their own merits, which they are, then who the fukk are you to say this is a "problem"? Their success has occurred organically and has been great for the game.
The age for weight issue is, as I've stated, separate and should not be focussed squarely on polynesian kids. I wonder how large Dave Taylor was at 12?? Probably much bigger than any polynesian in his age division and probably the one above him too.

So what if the game has become more suited to sizeable beasts. It's called progression and if that means people who identify with the polynesian community are excelling then so be it. We dont need no two bit yokels coming in and saying shite like "this needs to change". Because it doesnt.
Again I'll state the weight for age issue is completely different and about safety rather than the polynesian community being overrepresented in the NRL...even though the influx of immigrants from polynesian countries more than likely was the spark which highlighted the need to think about the issue. AS i said Dave Taylor at 12 could have broken many a bone in the littler 12 year olds.
