So they should play a game there for premiership points. But they don't!
Cairns was RL heartland. It's fading fast as the AFL plays it's second game there this year.

Townsville is RL Heartland too. I was up there last year and the place was teeming with League promotion and fields. There was a small set of 3 or four AFL fields somewhere near the big army barracks. But there were heaps more RL fields. :D

Townsville and Cairns are two different cities, in case you didn't notice......

they don't need to , the popularity of RL in Cairns is there for all to see
everything else is a funny little side act ... flogball being one of these
Cairns will remain ours , & easily so .... & theres nothing giggleball can do about that
the AFL could relocate the Thuns there .. it wouldn't change that.

Townsville .. Cairns ... Rockie ... Bundaberg ... Toowoomba ... Mackay
there all RL heartland
massive popularity for our game in these centres
nothing else in town of any note football wise anywhere in regional QLD E
the only reason there'd be fumbleball sticks near the army barracks is for scrawny stick insect military personel from the **** sthn states
so they can fumble .. bumble .. & miss at their leisure

Nope. Two games for premiership points by the AFL in Cairns, equal to the number of NRL games for premiership points (the second AFL game is in the 2012 draw).
AFL is right in the hunt in Cairns. Can't comment on the others when it comes to AFL status.

I've had it with the name of this sport confusing people so often. It's innapropriate and I, like Raider, am not going to stand for it. I'm making a stand. From now on I will call the commonly named sport of Australian Rules one of three different names.
Primarily, I'll call it 'Marngrook'.
I'll also call it 'Victorian Rules' to acknowledge this part of its history and the whitefellas and their input into the game.
And I'll also call it 'Delusional Feral Cat' to respect NSWAFL's naming of the game in this thread and its impromptu yet fantastically uncannily sharp description of what the game can look like on a bad day. Thanks nsw.
So members you all understand my reasons now and I want you to all accept my new naming of the sport. I hope some of you AFL mob will follow.
