i see, though this can be pot luck with the weather.. (expensive roof)

It’s at an elite level so yeah.
NFL teams in America still have stadiums that are outdoors and face very tough conditions
WIND and SNOW etc

just to name a few

Green Bay
New England
Minnesota
Chicago
Buffalo

and these are billion dollar franchises..

shall we go to EPL as well (English conditions) no stadium has a roof for all clubs

Tasmania team could most certainly play without a Roof and should not be conditional

Well it doesn't matter what you and I think. The AFL have deemed it is a requirement -simple as that. I am sure they just didn't request a roof for the sake of a roof - for roofs sake,

they requested a roof, for guaranteed crowd capacity each game, without the thought of Wind Water Storm having an effect on the games in Hobart

current Hobart Wind at the moment 5 to 7km throughout the week
current sydney Wind at the moment 19km to 23km thoughout the week..

it is laughable.
every Sporting Club would love that, but its not a fairy-tale world

AFL are asking to much..

well there is a theory doing the rounds , that those scum bastards at derpball house are insisting a roof be put on the stadium .... only because it will increase the cost to prohibitive levels ensuring the project does not proceed , & there fore the team does not proceed either.

Would it not be easier for the AFL to say a 40k stadium
and Balloon the costs out to $2 billion lol

Given the AFL is the biggest sporting body in the country - I would think they have taken these things into account.

have a look at this
https://www.AFL.com.au/video/26865/sher ... 3657778001

Anyway - doesn't matter- AFL said they could have a license under these conditions - it was agreed upon - they need to meet the conditions- license is still conditional depending on the stadium.

yeah its pretty full on, though ive seen worse At Cronulla or the south coast in Wollongong games and NZ games.

anyways lets see how it plays out between the Tasmanian Government and the AFL

Yep, the most relevant point being, the new Tasmanian AFL team is conditional on the agreed new stadium.

the wind in Tasmania isnt exactly that of one in Brisbane, plus the Venue would then open Tasmania up for events, concerts and other sporting events

I think the requirements are unfair.
Why would you want to discourage a future potentially great team with a whole State behind them.
If the NRL can get teams up and running overseas in NZ and PNG then the AFL is gonna look very stupid, absolutely pathetic in the eyes of world sporting organisations if it cannot organise a team next door.
Abysmal effort by the AFL on this issue.
