How the fuck can you try to sell a sport on playing numbers .

Tv execs look at one thing ..
Ratings ..eyeballs on the product ,& the advertising that those people will be exposed to .

Fooly How the fuck is it that soccer is the most popular participation sport is going to impact on TV rights ?

Jesus you are ********
No you in fact showed why I was right. Your first sentence is correct, and yet that's exactly what soccer authorities rely upon. I'm not ********. They are. The A League has to stop it and re-focus on what's important. Selling through the elite competition only and forget the local numbers. They've been doing the wrong thing for so long it's become a dangerous habit that will stop the game from growing in Australia.

Fuck off dickhead .
You made a strawman argument that Soccer would try to sell its rights based on playing numbers .
You then argued against it.
Dumb dumb dumb .
There is no proof anywhere that shows that playing numbers have or will be used to sell the rights .
I exposed you as a clueless twit ,& you are living up to it

I simply made the point as a fact and then stated it was the wrong way to do it.

Did you actually look at the manifesto presented to FIFA to try and win the 2022 World Cup?

Keep digging

Wtf has the WC bid got to do with the tv rights?

We were talking about the value of the future ALeague rights .

& you claimed that they would pitch "playing numbers" to the TV execs to increase the rights.

You can ramble on with whatever shit you like about 2022 WC.
It has nothing to do with what we were discussing.

The WC bid has everything to do with TV rights, because it was all about promotion. The bid relied on playing numbers here. It didn't address the level of the A League in terms of memberships, attendances and merchandise. FIFA are just as interested in those factors as the TV networks, and yet the FFA decided to skip past them because in comparison to the other bids they were poor. That's why we got nowhere near the 2022 World Cup, and it's also why soccer won't grow in this country at the elite level. The FFA need to change tack and quickly or they'll never get a decent TV rights deal.

The issue is that of omission, not statement. In other words, all factors except playing numbers were not used in the bid - or if they were they were detrimental. The article that would show this has been deleted for reasons unknown. It was contained in the McKinsey Report that FIFA ordered to examine Australia's bid. It showed that it failed all the key points, of which playing numbers was not mentioned. So instead of addressing the key points, the FFA went with the omission.

Quite logical, and quite wrong.
