They have a state government and a controlling body, right? So who's in charge down there? The controlling body can easily run the bid with state government backing and the problem is solved with a snap of the fingers!
Or in simple terms, you and the people who wrote those links are making a mountain out of a molehill.

Well gee, how fucking hard can it be to put the Giants (renamed) in Tas, play half the home games in one city and the other half in the other city and to stop stupid fans from one city complaining about the other city receiving certain sides while they miss out, swap out of state teams around every year so both sets of supporters from the differing parts get to see all teams at least once every second season.
Heck I have no idea, but that's probably fairer than what goes on now seeing as the vFL has to look after 6 franchises with easy games and less travel.

They discussed the Tasmanian AFL bid on Eddy tonight. Even the Tasmanian representatives who was desperate for a team admitted they had serious rivalry issues that hurt their bid.

The attitudes have been there since European settlement. I think that shows how entrenched the attitudes are.Striker wrote:So they should tell the c--ts to get out of the way! Is that so freaking hard??

Agree 100%
Tas either need to grow up, or completely miss out for good.

they wouldnt be the first state or country to be handicapped by longstanding attitudesStriker wrote:Living in the past? That's no excuse!
But I agree. Its a shame. They would be a fantastic addition to the AFL. They have a very passionate supporter base.
