Yes, I, like the AFL, feel sorry for the poor young 18-22 year old successful AFL draftees who get an opportunity to live in and enjoy Sydney, yes a 1hour flight away from their mummies and daddies , and then even worse they have to do it on wages...wait for it.... Below $300,000 per year

I mean, those poor young men. Some of em wouldn't have turned 21 and yet only be on like $220,000 a year and in expensive Sydney they're expected to pay their own rent and food and entertainment with that?

Thanks to God the AFL are so kind and understanding. Those poor younguns' be starving on the streets!!!

Why not they undertake to go anywhere if drafted, why shouldnt they be compensated. They have no control where and who they play for after all.

What an idiotic post KE. AFL players look at their peers for comparison, not your average person. They dont NEED rental assistance, its given as an incentive to keep players from travelling home to their native city where family and friends live and cost of living is also cheaper.

And, what's say u were playing for the Richmond tigers, a traditional working class club in Melbourne, what's ur avg 2 bedder ahem rental there you ask? Well real estate.com has it at $600 shmackaroonies!!!
