compared to AFL rugby league is a very simple sport to understand. Kick off then run into the wall. Pass it back to someone who runs into the wall. pass it back ... ... after 5 attempts at getting through the wall kick it over the top and let the other team try.

Compared to RL .....AFLOL is a very simple game
Fumble the ball continuously till you get near the giant sticks (with no crossbar) & try to kick straight
If you can't you get one UNCO point for being fucking useless .
Fitness is a must for the constant interchanges . Takes a lot out of players running to & from the bench .

It has to be kept simple. Otherwise the people that play it and the fans would get very confused. A simple game for simpletons.

Yep. Fumbleball is a game of continual mistakes without consequences. That is why it is such an ugly mess to watch. There is no attention to detail as it is just play on every time you make a mistake. It's a game that reinforces bad play, inept ball handling and atrocious kicking skills. It's a clumsy dog's breakfast.

Unlike RL Australian rules footballers have direct opponents who are allowed to stay immediately next to them. Any dropped ball, or poor pass is penilased because the player who collects the ball can be tackled. If they dont dispose of the ball legally within seconds they are penalised and possession of the ball is awarded to the opposition. In RL the vast majority of passes are small throws to a player completely on their own who can then still retain possession even when tackled. Of course players must be penalised for dropping the ball under such easy conditions. Otherwise the game would be even more absurd than it currently is.

Must be a hell of a lot of simpletons out there playing and watching the countries biggest game that keeps getting bigger and expanding. Then again we have seen Pauline Hanson get a lot of support ... so definitely some simpleton rednecks out there ...
