Your tendency to see violence in the lowest possible denominator and totally put of context highlights the cracks in the facade of superior intelligence you so desperately try to display. Force does not equal violence in the context you are trying to portray. There is violence in sport, but this is outside the rules usually. I would say where the purpose of the sport is to hurt then it is a violent sport, however where there is a chance of injury as an aside to the physical contact required then I don't see it as violent. Where there are regularly breaches of the rules that involve violence and they are I adequately addressed, then that sport could be seen to condone violence. A person getting knocked out by a fair hip and shoulder is not necessarily a violent act ... As no intent. Lesson over KE ... I'll give you a credit though for effort. Do they have that marking system at the Tafe you went to?

Not at all - I've had my share of punch ups - in a former life Fiday, Saturdays and Sunday's were all about busting up those fighting - bur I have a 14 yr old son - I have seen enough of people getting seriously injured sometimes for life just because some ape with too much testosterone and an overwhelming desire to prove they are tough! Hitting someone in the face like Gallen did is neither tough or courageous - backing back into a pack has these virtues the same as standing under a bomb. You can call it feminisation of the game - but I'd rather than than my son being a vegetable or worse still lose his life because of some immature and misguided attitude to what toughness and courage is!

So KE I don't care what you think it reflects on you not me, however immature or silly it may be - but I do care about my son and his welfare and if that means stopping violence in sport I'm more than happy to accept that!
You goose, marngrook is naturally a violent sport. It involves contact aimed at knocking men down dunderhead. Now, I'll say it again, and we're unfortunately seeing it in RL currently, putting blanket rules on fisticuffs gives significant rise to dirty, dog tactics and foul play such as king hits and other sneaky illegal shots which are more likely to result in kids being vegetables. Fisticuffs reduces this kinda play because, as Myles found out, you can get snotted good and proper if you engage in headbutting, leg twisting and the like. And lets not forget what myles said before gallen snotted him good "Comon merkin, lets go!" or something of the like. Grow a brain swines, you're simply narrow minded on this matter.

"But whaaaaatt about the children" scream those fathers and mothers with no clear insight into the sport [-X
You ever seen someone in a coma after being belted? Do you even have kids? Your the one thats narrow minded - don't tell me whats fair I have to listen to stories on a daily basis where people's life's have been ruined because of thugs - excusing that behaviour because it makes you feel better is no better than those thugs! Grow up!

Seriously folks, screaming about the biffo like helen lovejoy doesnt take away the fact that blanket rules against it such as those in the AFL gives rise to dirty and more dangerous play. [-X

You seriously want evidence that to not sanction thuggery and violence in sport is a good thing??? Seriously, if you are that out of touch ??? I would try to explain but it would no doubt be pointless. Again, the facade of your self-proclaimed superior intelligence quickly strips away under the slightest scrutiny. No wonder you try so hard to promote it.

I smell bully. Too much arrogance to be natural. It's a cover up for the real story.
